This place has some good dumplings - yummy ones. If you are planning a dine in - it is a small place and it is always good to take away. The dumplings are very tasty and flavourful and also worth every penny. The dumpling portion is very high compared to other dumpling places. I recommend this place for some good dumpling if you crave some anytime.
Cheap, delicious food in huge portions. Would highly recommend any of their dumplings and the pancake was amazing (and only $2). Lovely quaint little restaurant.
It’s been an odd week for me to be honest, I’m not usually one who is craving for dumplings having grown up eating handmade dumplings by my grandma. This of course has led me to be rather snobbish of dumpling establishments and places like Barilla.
As it was our monthly Board Game catch up, I thought it would be a cool for us all to get together before hand and grab a bite.
Love Dumplings is basically run by a Chinese couple, they have limited English but are intent on giving their diners a pleasant experience.
We had one pan-fried pork and chives dumpling, steamed chicken and mushroom, BBQ pork buns and a side of marinated beef slices. Beef slices here are amazing, no beating around the bush the little spice kick along with the strong distinct beef flavor is delicious. Wouldn’t recommend the BBQ pork buns as they were pretty bland. Pan fried dumplings were gorgeous, one problem with many establishments that do pan fried dumpling is that they only fry the bottom.
Here the dumpling has a nice golden texture around the skin and the joy of crunching into a fried dumpling is divine. Also the skin of the dumpling is relatively thing so they get more of a balanced filling to skin ratio which is the proper ratio for dumplings ( I’m looking at you Over-rated Barilla ).
If you’re a regular attendant at Cakes and Ladders, grab your group and head literally 20 steps down to Love Dumpling House for some awesome dumplings
Showstopper: Beef slices and Pan fried dumplings .
Overall Grade: B+
As the name suggests, they're a dumpling house! There's a huge variety of dumplings on offer - available steamed, pan fried or frozen (if you'd like some to takeaway for a rainy day). They also offer other foods like fried rice, noodles and soups.
Their standards dumplings are available for $12/ 25pcs, whereas their new concoctions (like pork and fennel) are $14 / 25pcs - still budget friendly tho!
My friend and I have been eyeing this place out for ages and finally gave it a go. we're use to the ones from Spicy House, but I think I like these a bit more. Whilst they're not as crispy as I'd want them to be (when pan fried), they're not as salty which is good for those who want to alter it to their own personal taste.
For me, I'm not a fan of the fennel and pork dumplings as it was the first time I've tried fennel and it's too floral for my taste. My go-to is the standard pork & chives/ pork and cabbage.
For $8, they give you a decent sized fried rice. It's not too oily or salty and is definitely worth it if you're looking for a cheap and filling dish.
For those who want to try this place out, I 1000000% recommend and forcefully want to push this on you, to try their SPRING ONION PANCAKE. It is on the oily side as most Chinese pancakes are, but it's the best I've ever had, each and every time. It's not too thin or thick and super crispy. It's big and for only $2, there's nothing to lose. It's also cut into 4 pieces for you to make it easier to eat.
The owner and his wife are super friendly, and remember us every time we come in now! They give you a menu and sauces when you get takeaway - if you want Chinese vinegar soy sauce, you'll have to ask or fill one up on the wall table yourself. Their chilli oil isn't the best so would recommend using your own.
For those in the area, it's a worth while stop. Wouldn't tell people to come out of their way to try it though.
Cute hole in the wall type of place, very close to Uni. Food portions are very large and prices are fairly cheap with dumplings coming at a surprising $12 for 25pc! The atmosphere is v quaint as it's a small family run business and the staff are very friendly and attentive. I happened across this place when taking the wrong bus but, like most parents tell their children, it was very much a happy accident. It's a fairly good place to have lunch with friends, will definitely be visiting again :)
Living so close to Love Dumpling my sister and I decided to finally try this cute dumpling house and we were not disappointed! The dumplings are great and very affordable! The service is amazing, and you can definitely tell they all love dumplings and people! I definitely recommend this place!
Since our apartment is just 3' walk from this lovely family-owned Shop, we have dumplings as the comfort food more frequently than ever. Give them a try, and you'll never go back!
The family that owns this cute shop love what they do, and their passion comes through clearly in the delicious dumplings that they make for takeaway or eating in daily! The dumplings can be ordered either boiled or fried, and there are delicious vegetarian dumplings available as well, which is what my wife and I enjoyed recently. Portions are very generous, and prices are low. If you love fresh dumplings, prepared with love, please visit Love Dumplings!
Love Dumplings has a genuine passion for dumplings, the lady owner is so passionate about her dumplings she makes them in full view of her clientele.
I've the taste of the amazing range of dumplings and the pancakes that she and her husband cook. I would recommend Love dumplings highly.
Great value for money - $12 for 24 dumplings, even cheaper if you get frozen ones to take home! We got pork/chives/prawn & pork/mushroom both delicious and good amount of filling + sliced beef stew (as pic it's not actually a stew). Couple running the place were really friendly too...will definitely be back!
I don't normally like dumplings but these are just so delicious...fave ones so far are the pork, chive & prawn - ended up buying more to take away plus some for the freezer to cook at home another night. To top it all they are very reasonable. So glad to have such a great dinner option close by!
As a local, this is my go to place for dumplings. Great value for money and the food is really good. The owners are very friendly and hand-make all the dumplings in-store. Would recommend to anyone in the area to check this place out, if travelling by car, parking may be an issue.
I come here all the time and it's remarkable. If you can complain about 25 delicious pastry wrapped chunks of heaven, for $12, you're clearly. It the target audience.
The restaurant looks very clean and the dumplings are delicious!!!! Will come back for your dumplings next time😍
Very delicious dumplings!
