The good was okay. Not a wow though. The curry was not as rich as I had elsewhere. The pad Thai was lack of chive.
My husband and I visited Mali Thai twice within a 3 day stay in Auckland.
Food was fresh, delicious, and well portioned. We also enjoyed the seating arrangement (tables located inside, but whole front was open to the outside).
We had the Pineapple Chicken Fried Rice and the Red Curry with Tofu both times, both were too good not to have again.
Craving some Thai and this place ticks all the right boxes for simple authentic Thai. Limited seating but ok on a weekday lunch hour.
TOM YUM NOODLE SOUP - A must have dish here. Cooked to perfection, delicious textured noodles, generous amount of toppings and the soup had a nice tang to it.
The Kao Soi is a metro voted dish, it was okay but there are better in other Thai places in the cbd.
The staff was very friendly, served us with a smile and a wholesome laugh.
I will definitely be back for the Tom yum Noodle soup!
have walked past this place countless times over the years and finally tried for the first time tonight. quick, friendly and the food was delicious. khao soi was 👌 pad thai was the best the gf has ever had!
Had the pineapple fried rice, it was very good. Great combination of sweetness in rice.
Staff were great.
Takeaway & Dine-in are available in an open area with limited space(you will feel the seasonal weather elements since it’s an open dining area).
Meals moderately priced and is usually the average for CBD Locations but with good portions for 1 individual.
I'm giving them a 5 stars review rating because this is the true Chiang Mai flavour that I've been looking for a long time!
Back to my three times visit I really enjoyed my days in that historical town in the Northern Thailand.
Although I still have to say Zap2 is my favorite at all times, Mali Thai wins my heart with it's authentic Chiang Mai taste.
I definitely will go back again and again and again!
I ordered Beef Noodles Soup in Thai spicy, yummy 😋😋😋
Finally had the chance to try Mali Thai, after reading so much good reviews about it and passing by this restaurant countless times.. had lunch here one Sunday afternoon and the staff was composed of one really friendly lady who cooks real good food 🤩
We ordered a plate of pad thai, chicken satay, and pork ribs and everything was super yummy. Would have wanted a spicier version of the pad thai, but they had chilli crisps which spiced up our meals a bit more.
Good sized serving too; we took home the rest of the pad thai and chicken satay - had these for dinner so the ~$45 meal was worth it 👍
Highly recommended 😊
Really enjoyed the shrimp chips and yellow curry ! The pad Thai was also good, not drenched in sauce like so other places. The money bags were good but just a bit too salty. Would come back
Tried the Tom ka ghai soup on a rainy winter afternoon. Satisfied the soup craving that came out with boiled rice.
Soup seemed rushed and not as flavorful as I would expect though.
