Normally not a huge fan of fusion Asian cuisine. But I have to admit, this place changed my mind and perception.
The flavours are similar to Sichuan cuisines. The dishes incorporated the traditional Chinese tasted with a hint of creativity which blended quite well. The service was superb. The waiter was super attentive, humorous and looked after our group really well.
Best place for a taste of authentic Chinese cuisine. Excellent service from host, waiter to chefs. Fast and also in for a cheeky lil banter/comment. The price is worth the food and vibe of the restaurant top it off toilets are clean. We were full by the 3rd plate so come empty and the drinks will knock you out if you’re not careful. Definitely paying your worth and very excited to bring friends and family to this gem.
I cannot recommend Ghost Street highly enough. A member of our group suggested this restaurant as she had been before - and it did not disappoint. I am usually not the biggest fan of seafood but every item from the banquet option was fantastic! The snapper in spicy sauce in particular was phenomenal.
Service, amazing.
Food, incredible.
Drinks, insane.
This should be an Auckland institution. The service and atmosphere is incredible. It gets a tad loud the later in the evening you go but that's purely because of the underground nature.
The food was incredible. Standouts were the scallop wonton, stir fried eye fillet and fried rice. This place is all about strong punchy flavours so be prepared.
All in all, a great experience.
Went here for Restaurant Month and was so glad I did! Highlights were definitely the lamb ribs, the biang biang pulled noodles and the prawn & sesame toast. Atmosphere was cute for date night with dim lighting with a candle lit table. Service was amazing - would come back!!
If you love chilli and spice this is the place for you.
Lovely tasty food, excellent friendly staff.
Quick turnaround even when busy.
Scallops so delicious as are the margaritas!
We went there for dinner on December 13th 2022. The foods are great. They have options for people with dietary restrictions, such as vegetarian and gluten-free. The servings are good for two people. Their main dishes can serve up to 3 people, depending on your appetite.
We also love the ambiance. It was like a medieval-styled restaurant with slightly dimmed lighting. The service is amazing.
However, their foods are a bit pricey for the serving. We spent $170 dollars for 5 meals and 3 non-alcoholic drinks. They also don't have wheelchair access, and the way to the restaurant is a bit hidden. Please make sure you check all the signs to avoid getting lost.
Overall experience was great and I loved it.
The food was delicious. Everything seemed perfect, however, I didn't feel comfortable when I saw the kitchen staff eating in the kitchen when they prepared our food. Not sure what standard is in New Zealand, but I think the staff should eat in the staff room during their break time.
Overall a 4 star. Food is ok for its price but great vibe and service.
We got the prawn toasts, stir fried chicken thighs, fried rice, cha sui pork, biang biang noodles and two desserts.
The mango dessert was a hi-light for me.
Love this place. Such a cool hidden gem. It's a bit hot (temperature wise), but the food is delicious. There were 7 of us, and each of us ordered 2 or 3 things on the menu and shared everything. It gave us a chance to sample multiple items on the menu. The food is hot, so if you don't like hot order it mild.
