How lucky are we to finally have a fish and chip shop that delivers on freshness and flavour and isn't greasy. I throughly enjoyed my bacon and egg burger all fresh ingredients and a descent burger paddie, chicken nuggets and prawns were delicious and a special shout out to the homemade potato fritters. Yum!!!! Chips aren't greasy and are crisp and fluffy, just how chips are supposed to be. Highly recommend checking this place out, to top it all off a beautiful family run the business. I'll be back for sure.
Pineapple fritters - the best I've EVER had. Batter on the fish like no other fish n chips I've had what magic ingredients are in it? Fresh tasting fish - yummy!. Tasty squid rings. Chips delish. Everything seasoned and cooked to perfection.. 10/10

Loved the Snapper fish burger, very crispy and not too oily. Great taste! The batter to fish ratio was just right for me. Will definitely come back for more.
Fresh and tasty fish and chips - always of a consistently high standard. Recommend the snapper. Burgers are also very good -homemade patties. Potato fritters are also hand made and not too oily. Friendly owners - can call ahead and place an order
Just had the best crumbed tarakihi I’ve ever had fell apart and melted in the mouth cooked to perfection. Thanks chip n dayals I’ll definitely be back when I can’t be bothered cooking dinner, which is often lol
Great little fish n chips shop literally around the corner from where I live. Everything seems fresh and these guys know what they’re doing. I’ve had some horrible fish n chips in the past but these guys are yet to disappoint.

True, you’ll pay slightly more than your average F&C outlet for what’s on offer here, but you won’t be disappointed - no pungent tasting ‘fishy’ fish here, just fresh food.

I gave it a 4 star because IMO it is the tastiest fish n chips and always fresh in my area. They have a varied menu at reasonable prices, plus very pleasant owners. I don't need to drive extra kms to get my weekly fix on fish n chips. Well done, from Roy.

Chip n Dayal's is a classic kiwi fish and chip shop. Our family has fish and chips from there once a week. The service is friendly and the food is so tasty, at a good price. The new owners should be proud as they have created a fish and chip shop the locals can trust.
First time trying this place out and I wasn't disappointed. Best fish and chips I've ever had. Tried the spicy snapper burger which was quite filling and also had snapper and chips. Perfectly cooked fish, yummy batter, crispy.
So happy to find a fish and chips spot that didn't have that disgusting old oil flavour in their food like most fish and chips places in the country.
Will be back to try more items from the menu.
Love this fish and chip shop! Very fresh and crunchy batter. Nicely salted, but probably with table salt.
I gave a 4* because they do use Canola Oil, which nearly all do, but it has been shown to be very bad for long-term health. Only a chip shop in Glen Innes called Marsic use lard that I know of....so this is my highest rating without lard.
Lovely staff. Quite fast and very diligent. Very fresh fish battered on site.
Would highly recommend but not as an everyday due to the Canola (look up Canola dangers).
First time we have been here. I was asking around friends of any good takeaways that they know of or have been to. They had heard of this one. A little expensive because we had burgers. Totally understandable with the price of food these days. I have to say, they were delicious. If a works burger can fill up my hubby, it has to be good. Great service, great food. Next time I will do a phone order as it is very popular, wait time if you order there can be a little long but they do tell you upfront. Appreciated the kind gesture of the bottle of drink for our dinner. Definitely worth the trip.
Highly recommend! Had 1 piece each crumbed & battered snapper (great flavor, not overbattered, tasted fresh as, not slimy like some places). Chips (large) were amazing & cooked through. Pineapple rings (x4) great, not overbattered & perfect amount of cinnamon. $52 all in which fed 3 adults with chips left over.
Service from the young girl was very friendly & she helped us order the best deals.
Best fish and chips shop I've been to In a long time.its hard to find places who cook fresh fish from scratch instead of pre battering it like alot of places do these days.
Food was perfectly cooked and my son who is a picky eater said its the business.

This is a high-quality local fish and chip shop. While the pricing is a little steeper than you could find, and you do tend to wait a little bit longer than they'll tell you on the phone in peak times, the end result is worth both of those compromises. We travel ten minutes, past other lower-priced stores and other fast food restaurants, and are yet to be disappointed. Will keep coming here as long as we are in the area.
Great local fish n chips. Definitely order up on the chips as the portions are small. We order 3 serves for 2 adults and 2 kids under 7.
