Came here for the exclusive crepe brulee which is only available on Saturday between 12 to 2.30pm. This reminds me of the dessert crepe that I had when I was in Japan. The crepe was soft and not too dry. The cream brulee was very tasty and made perfectly, the little bit of jam adds diversity to flavour and there was a little bit of their classic cheese cake at the bottom of the cake to add texture. Very delicious will definitely be back for this. We also ordered the matcha cheesecake, which in my opinion, the classic original was better, but still tasted good.
Authentic Japanese cheese tarts, love their madeleine too. They have different flavors occasionally, I’ve tried taro and green tea, both are good. But my favourite is still the original one. At $5.5 per cheese tart, the price is very reasonable and aligns with the prices overseas.
Their cheese cakes are good too, you can eat them cold or slightly warm them up for a softer (slightly melting) feel.
This shop undoubtedly serves one of the best crepe brulee in all of New Zealand, and I was truly impressed with the quality and the cozy atmosphere it provided. The brulee is a delight to savor, starting with the delectable caramelized sugar crunch on top, followed by the smooth custard and cream.
The cream was perfectly creamy, striking the right balance of sweetness. The crepe itself was delicious, and the homemade berry and cherry sauce added a delightful touch without being overly sweet. Each layer of the brulee was a hit for me, and I couldn't find any faults—it was simply perfect.
Kudos to the chef for crafting such a remarkable treat. However, it seems the popularity of the crepe brulee is causing some demand challenges. I witnessed people standing in line, and by around 1:45, the brulee had already sold out. It might be worth considering offering it for two days a week instead of just on Saturdays to keep up with the high demand.
The only minor inconvenience was the limited seating space, which led to some waiting. Despite my order taking 15 minutes to be delivered, it was absolutely worth it for the exquisite crepe brulee.
