The queue is long but it's well worth the wait (if you want a shorter queue head to causeway bay, Hong Kong - line is shorter there). Staff are friendly and super polite (thanking almost all customers for coming with ARIGATO ). The fluffiest cheesecake you'll ever taste... def my fav.

I love their cakes! I buy their cakes for birthdays, parties, presents. I come here quite often and it’s very popular with young people and families. I would recommend the original cheesecake over the chocolate flavour . The macaroons and waffles are a bit too sweet for me.

Airy and light. Can get boring when trying to consume an entire piece as it’s all one flavour and one texture so I tend to eat mine with berries in the summer and I think it goes well with the bit of acidity

World famous Cheese cake shop in Queen Street!

My first time trying this place was in Sydney and I personally prefer the little cupcakes as they hold more flavour. But the texture of the cheesecake is pretty unique!

If I want to get a cheesecake without feeling guilty after, Uncle Tetsu’s will always be the first thing on my mind. That fluffy, soft, airy and so delicious cheesecake. I can finish the whole thing just by myself. Haven’t tried their muffins yet but I heard they’re also good.

Highly recommend their new menu item: crepe brûlée! $9.50 for a crepe filled with uncle tetsu cheesecake, brûlée creme, dark choc, whipped cream and jam topped off with a perfect layer of blowtorches sugar. Worth the 15 min wait!

Japanese cheesecake has always been one of my favorite cakes, it’s very different from the traditional cheesecake, it’s got a light and moist texture, similar to a chiffon cake but softer and smoother. Uncle Tetsu’s cheesecake has it all! It’s super soft and spongy, especially when you heat it up in the microwave for a few seconds, it really taste like just fresh out of the oven. Their madeleines also very popular, vanilla and matcha flavour available daily, there’s also daily special flavours such as chocolate, honey etc. from Monday to Wednesday.

Their cheesecake has a really nice texture, soft and smooth - it just melts in your mouth! They taste quite bland in room temperature and taste best after few hours in the fridge 🧡

I have been wanting to try this for quite some time now but every time I pass by their shop in Queen St the queue is enormously long, like the queues you see on a popular theme park ride on a school holiday weekend, queueing is not my thing and its one of the things I love in New Zealand, queueing is not a common sight apart from this one.

Both the cheesecake and angel hat are delicious but I prefer the cheesecake. They are small for its price. Angel hat is suitable for 2 people really, as it’s very airy.
Little store for takeaway only.
Staff are always friendly.

Came here for the exclusive crepe brulee which is only available on Saturday between 12 to 2.30pm. This reminds me of the dessert crepe that I had when I was in Japan. The crepe was soft and not too dry. The cream brulee was very tasty and made perfectly, the little bit of jam adds diversity to flavour and there was a little bit of their classic cheese cake at the bottom of the cake to add texture. Very delicious will definitely be back for this. We also ordered the matcha cheesecake, which in my opinion, the classic original was better, but still tasted good.

Authentic Japanese cheese tarts, love their madeleine too. They have different flavors occasionally, I’ve tried taro and green tea, both are good. But my favourite is still the original one. At $5.5 per cheese tart, the price is very reasonable and aligns with the prices overseas. Their cheese cakes are good too, you can eat them cold or slightly warm them up for a softer (slightly melting) feel.

This shop undoubtedly serves one of the best crepe brulee in all of New Zealand, and I was truly impressed with the quality and the cozy atmosphere it provided. The brulee is a delight to savor, starting with the delectable caramelized sugar crunch on top, followed by the smooth custard and cream. The cream was perfectly creamy, striking the right balance of sweetness. The crepe itself was delicious, and the homemade berry and cherry sauce added a delightful touch without being overly sweet. Each layer of the brulee was a hit for me, and I couldn't find any faults—it was simply perfect. Kudos to the chef for crafting such a remarkable treat. However, it seems the popularity of the crepe brulee is causing some demand challenges. I witnessed people standing in line, and by around 1:45, the brulee had already sold out. It might be worth considering offering it for two days a week instead of just on Saturdays to keep up with the high demand. The only minor inconvenience was the limited seating space, which led to some waiting. Despite my order taking 15 minutes to be delivered, it was absolutely worth it for the exquisite crepe brulee.

Simply one of the best cheese cakes I’ve ever tried! So soft and tasty! The location is convenient, lots of parking and full of other places to eat. There are two flavors, green tea and the normal.

I used to be their loyal customer when their store was still in CBD. Since they relocated to North Shore, I didn't have time to visit them as much as before. Cheese cake was still delicious. Tarts were nice. Sadly they sell crepe brulee only on Saturday from 12-2.30pm.

went on saturday to grab their crepe brulee! the queue looked long but it doesn't seems like a long wait, probably about 15-20mins to pay and wait for the crepe. I was so happy to finally tried it! so yummyy and kudos to their hardwork!

Fantastic Japanese cheesecake! It’s a bit out of the way so good to order in advance just to be sure they’ll have it available. The tart was also very nice.

Nice cheese tarts, the filling is so yummy, its sweet and savoury at the same time. I think the biscuit crust tastes slightly like it has too much baking soda or bicarbonate in it but its minor. I just like never to taste any hint of that.

Eye watering price ($25) but a very satisfying and delicious cake which can only be found at asian bakeries and which does not make you feel sick. Good thing the size is shrinking or I will gain more weight.

Very Asian taste kind of cake. Not too sweet or too oily. The staff is quite nice and the service is really good. Madeleine has a variety of flavours which is decent if you want to have a try. With its convenient location and beyond average taste, no wonder it was popular at the beginning of their business.
