It was the first time here, my colleagues had recommend this restaurant to me. It's a small restaurant but cozy with nice ambient lighting. The food comes in large portions, and the taste was very authentic. I didn't feel heavy MSG after eating, and didn't need to drink plenty of water after.

No doubt. The best korean chicken in Auckland. I ordered Dak Kang Jung in the morning and I fell in love when I bite the chicken. OMG How is it possible???? This chicken is absolutely stunning!!!! Omg I've never had experience this crispy and crunch chicken before. Perfect fit, perfect packaging. I love it I have no doubt that I will order one more time soon🤤 thank you for your kindness, existence. Thank you for everything. I really appreciate it. 🙏

Very authentic Korean food , taste exactly same like what I have at Korea. The portion was very big and really worth the price. Definitely will come back again with more of my friend ! 👍

The first time came for lunch. This is nice and cozy restaurant. The food is yummy, i ordered kimchi Bibim noodle. Highly recommend to try this out, it is cold noodle with kimchi and vegetables and spice sauce, very fresh and tasty 5/5. Kimchi fish roe rice is also good. We also ordered half chicken, a bit disappointed but overall it was a great place to try. I will want to come back to try their other dishes.

Had the Kimchi Fish Roe Rice and the Soy and Chilli Chicken. The rice was so good, I've never had anything like it before. It was starting to crisp around the clay pot and with a small bit of mixing the flavours came together so well. The chicken on the other hand was quite disappointing. The chicken was fried well but I wouldn't recommend the flavour soy and chilli at all. Would like to go back to try other dishes.

One of the best places for Korean food. Great to have choices of soup dishes to share. The fried chicken I think is a more modern touch and some flavors are outstanding. It's so good to experience the same quality time and time again. Most places are great when they first open and lose that quality. Gganbu hasn't changed!

First time dinner here and boy were we blown away! The flavours of each dish were perfectly balanced and every component added something to the overall dish. We ordered a lot (everything was delicious btw) but the stand outs for me had to be the crazy potato chicken, rose tteokbokki and bimbimbap (all veges were perfectly seasoned and added a great texture to the dish) Will definitely come back to try out more dishes-the gamjatang looked amazing 🤩

The best Korean food and service in town hands down! Not only was the food delicious but the service was friendly and kind. The hostess ensured that we were comfortable and we'll looked after. It would be best to make a reservation before going in as you may not get a place to sit inside as it can get fully occupied very quickly. We went there as a family and had to wait outside for a place to become available inside and the hostess did her best to find us a place as soon as one was free. Definitely recommend the place, their food was good and good quantity as well. Thanks Gganbu restaurant!! We'll definitely be back again soon.

We had a lovely meal. Friendly staff. Crispy chicken. Kids had fun making the rice ball. Seafood soup was adjusted to the kids taste as they didn't want it spicy.

I was finally able to stop by for dinner after trying for a while. The place is decently sized and it was mostly full the entire time we were there. The decor is certainly very interesting. The menu is fairly large with a large selection of different Korean items including fried chicken. Each item has a photo so it can make it easier/harder. We grabbed a Dak Gang Jung chicken, Honey Butter Chicken and sweet soy pork belly. We also shared the plum honey wine which was actually quite nice, considering I'm not a big fan of plum wine. I quite enjoyed the honey butter chicken as well as the sweet soy pork. Both had really nice flavours. I found the dak gang jung to be on the edge of sourness for me. It was ok with rice, which came with the pork. Portions were decent as we ended up taking away a small portion for lunch the next day. Quite a nice place for tasty Korean food.
