Made a stop in Cambridge for some breakfast. Good food being offered, with a rather relaxed atmosphere. Coffee was nice as well.
On the day we had breakfast, they had some strawberries up for sale from a local farmer. I thought it was neat seeing local shops helping out the local community.
Wow, what a place The Deli on the Corner was. Had passed this café many times in the last week and this morning called in for breakfast. Alongside a great menu, there was also a very full food cabinet with lots of beautiful kai.
Service was excellent, and food arrived promptly, actually before the kāwhe which I didn't mind. Kai was scrumptious 😋 and those creamy mushrooms were definitely amazing. It was so nice to have an extra slice of toast to mop up all the gravy.
Kāwhe was perfect and accompanied by a little biscuit, which was a really nice touch. Smoothie was very good, too.
Well, it's worth visiting if you're in Cambridge, I know I will be back when next in town.
The food was absolutely great!
Quentin got the half breakfast - poached egg, kransky, bacon, mushrooms, toast, hash brown and tomatoes. Let me just say the mushroom was divine. There’s something different with the mushroom, it’s flavorful. Made us wonder if they used wild mushrooms.
I got the potato gratin. The poached egg was cooked to perfection. The potato gratin was crispy outside and soft inside.
We also got a flat white and caramel cappuccino and they were A grade.
Best part of the experience is getting to lounge outside under the Sunday sun while enjoying great acoustic music and the heart breakfast we got.
Quentin is reminded of his travels abroad and Sunday’s when he gets to take a rest and just relax.
And we get to do what we both love at the same time - people watch.
