Our third dining experience at Thai Orchid was just as wonderful as the previous ones. The staff have a way of making their guests really feel at home. The atmosphere is relaxed, yet has a nice buzz, which can work for romantic couples just as easily as groups of friends and family gatherings. Nothing is too much trouble and despite the fact the meals here are very tasty, the serves are quite generous and the quality/freshness of the ingredients are world standard, I find the prices are most reasonable. I will definitely be back next time I visit Christchurch.

Food and service here is always great! Been many times now. Excellent selection of dishes. The Spicy Lemon Salmon & Crispy Duck are so delicious. I especially love the hot Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodle) .. Amazing food! :) Staff are so friendly giving lovely service. My favourite Christchurch restaurant! .. Will be back :)

Best Tasty Thai and Top Service!
This restaurant is very popular and we usually find it very busy and full of energy. After dining 3-4 times this year they are so overdue for a great review. We should know to book, however the owners and team are so friendly and we don’t need to wait long for a table.
Food is to die for and the crispy prawns were a great starter with our wine. We have had many traditional spicy dishs (Pad Phed, Pad Ke Mao, Pad Krapao) which are full of flavour! Less hot but equally yummy Crispy Duck, Oyster sause, Peanut sause and Pad Sew Ew dish. Your Sticky mango in a pineapple tops off great evening - thank you Thai Orchid team!
Thai Smiles, Awesome Food! - The Salmon was so good - Delicious! – Was my partners birthday and they made a real fuss - Owners, management and staff are so accommodating and friendly! … Lights out and candles on dessert! Thank u for a great night! :)
Amazing service. Best Thai food I've had in Christchurch! I had the Tom Kha as a main and my partner had the crispy duck. Both were hard to fault. The starters were a mix of things. Curry puffs were perfect, satay chicken stick was so moist and flavourful, fish cakes were the best I'd had in a long time. We were both full by the end of it and are looking to book a table there again very soon!
Nicest service, best food! New Owners Jules, Jum and team are all so warm and helpful. The second visit in almost a month and again amazing! Taking you through menu options and making you feel at home … The chefs did another fantastic job – the Crispy Duck, the Fish and the tasty Pad Sew Ew noodle presented beautifully and yummy – Go specially well with the Rose! Luv this place! :)
The 2 of us wandered in without a booking. It was very busy, but after a short wait we were fixed up with a drink, while Jules found a table for us. The restaurant is warm and inviting. Drinks and cocktails good. We got to our table and Jules gave us some suggestions. We ordered a salmon green curry and beef cheek curry. Both very tasty and good sized portions. Beef cheek just melted. We were full and couldn’t finish them. The waitress happily and efficiently boxed up the leftovers. The service was very good throughout, the ambience and vibe was good and food very nice. Overall a very nice night out and highly recommend . Thanks Jules and team
Been to Thailand with their amazing food and finding an authentic Thai food in NZ is grinding. This has been the best by far, delicious, well presented and reasonable price. Service is amazing, ladies are smiling though it was a busy lunch.
Most tender salmon we’ve EVER had!!! All the dishes were packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. We loved everything we ordered, extremely tasty.
Big thank you to Thai Orchid Restaurant for also offering gluten free options and being open on Christmas Day. If we are ever back in Christchurch we will visit again! 🍍

The food was fine portion wise, but they could add a bit more flavour. The staff were very friendly.
What an awesome dinner experience. We were greeted at the door by the lovely Kristine and Jess. They engaged with us straight away and their service was amazing. The food was just as good as the service. Highly recommend and when next in Christchurch we will be back

The food was fantastic and everyone enjoyed it.
I asked for a Thai hot 🔥 🥵 and it was a perfect heat. What let it down was that the sliced meat 🍖 was a tad chewy and took some eating.
The staff were tuned in to the service, and our table was well looked after.
The upstairs room where we had our dinner 🍽 was a little stuffy and could have done with some circulation like a fan or aircon.
So the lost stars at the top were for those two things. The meat and the lack of air movement.
Otherwise, it was a pleasant night spent with my oldest sister, who turned 80 that week and all my other nieces and lovely sisters.
Would I revisit again.

We went to have our dinner. We were warmly greeted and welcomed. Although we did not have a booking, it was wee waiting time for us to be seated. Jules is a great person with great hospitality skills. He gave us a detailed introduction to the menu and told us about the restaurant specials! The staffs were friendly, full of smile and helpful 😊
We ordered Chicken Tom Yum Soup, Chicken Wings, Pad Thai Beef and Chicken Green Curry. Food were delicious and the Tom Yum Soup was the best we ever had 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

We had a wonderful farewell for my son and it was a group of 18 . The food was absolutely yummy and I would give it 10/10 . The duty manager Kristine was really lovely and picked all our set menu dishes . Beef cheek curry just melted in your mouth, crispy duck, pad Thai, beef salad all cooked to perfection.
My personal favourite was the wontons and curry puffs , cocktails in a pineapple so cool,
They catered to our food allergies as well, lovely atmosphere 🥰

Everything here is incredible! The food is so delicious and beautifully presented, the service is so friendly and cheerful and the ambiance is also amazing
We had a coeliac in our group and nothing was a hassle, almost every single dish can be made gluten free, so this is a fantastic spot to come!
The cocktail list was delicious and we made a good dent in trying the entire list, the house special is certainly one to enjoy.
Ordered the Pad Se-Ew, the Massaman lamb curry, garlic chicken and seared lemon salmon and my goodness those were all incredible and so delicious I could happily eat them for the rest of my life!
The people working clearly cared so much about their jobs and delivering exceptional service, cheerful banter and they made every single patron feel welcomed, so do yourself a favour and come here

I was part of a big group and the restaurant accommodated us so well. Service was on point (especially Christina who had amazing energy and was so fun!).
