This is an awesome cafe located on the corner of New Regent St. The cafe has a really nice vibe with ample seating inside and outside. I came here for brunch and ordered the mushrooms on brioche with poached eggs and a coffee. The eggs were perfectly poached and matched perfectly with the mushrooms. I would definitely come back here again.
Coffee was great and service was efficient but the place had a scent of old spilled milk to it this morning. I’m glad I got takeaway. Will return to confirm if one off.
Had a lovely brunch here with great food and coffee. We ordered the Egg Benedict and the Crepes. Service was great and location is awesome for a good banter.
Cool little spot for brunch. Food is great, service is good, and convenient corner location makes this a cool place to drop by. Nice neighbourhood.
Great coffee and food. Other cafes should take a leaf out of there book! Picture paints a thousand words.... yummy. Recommended option in christchurch
First class scrambled eggs. Coffee, strong and hot. Job done and done well. Had omelette here a while back and equally good. Love a place that does simple things well
Stopped by for hot chocolate before walking through town in the morning. The place was quite small but did have a few tables. The cups were quite buzzy. Hot choc was alright.
It has really great costumer service, the two men working there were very lovely and kind. The coffee I had was very nice however the chocolate milkshake was rather questionable. The crepes were a bit too sweet but great if you're a sweet tooth, the bacon was a bit over cooked, the raspberry brownie was amazing and the presentation of the food was fantastic! Overall, great costumer service, fabulous coffee and presentation of the food but the food itself was average and pricey apart from the raspberry chocolate brownie which was yum!
Nice little cafe on the corner. Delicious breakfast and portions. Nice espresso coffee. Fast service. Its not over priced as well. We enjoyed our breaky.
We walk past the cafe quite a few times in Christchurch and the place was always jam packed with people, we knew we had to give it a go some time before we leave.
It was a chic little place with simple wooden decors and furnishings. The staff were friendly and extremely welcoming.
We went in early on a Saturday morning and unfortunately due to 2 staff down they couldn't serve breakfast til later on. We were in a hurry so we ordered their coffee and had to leave empty handed and a little disappointed.
Later on that day, I decided to give it another go, this time I had better luck and managed to find a cozy spot for one. I ordered their omelette with potatoes and kumaras, and a salad. It came boiling hot in a small cast iron. I burnt my mouth trying to stuff it all in my mouth, but that was my own fault. It was absolutely delicious, the brown bits cooked at the bottom was so tasty and the potatoes and kumaras were soft and just so hearty. The salad with dressing and blobs of cream cheese was a rich and creamy. I had no trouble finishing it all off.
Before I go I ordered their lemon meringue tart for my partner. I never got to taste it but it looked so cute and I just couldn't resist. My partner enjoyed it a lot and I would love to try it next time too.
We would love to come back again next time as the other items on their menu also looked amazing and it definitely deserves a higher rating than its current one.
Beautiful cafe in Regent Street, one of the characteristic areas of Christchurch. Tasty coffee and food, maybe a bit pricey but definitely worth it. The place has two levels, first one tiny and cozy, couldn't get the chance to see the one upstairs. They have many outside tables too. Nice and efficient staff! Definitely you have to try it!
Popped in for a quick breakfast before leaving Christchurch and was pleasantly surprised. Great coffee and very well made food. Salmon eggs Benedict was on point. Thanks TCL, easy 5-stars! 👌🏼
Really nice and friendly staff, and cozy cafe in the corner of the prettiest city in Christchurch <3 But it's not just about the vibe itself but also about their great coffee and their AMAZING mushroom burger. Man! That burger knows how to make you happy, and Caffeine Laboratory definitely knows how to do it too. Absolutely recommended by @PigLifeDiary :)
Love this place great coffee and amazing food made with love and served with a smile everytime 😀 highly recommend the lab cheers guys see you all next time
A nice stroll today to New Regent St. A vibrant cafe with Paisley tiles on the outside and an eclectic brewing bike from Cassels & sons against the pastel array of Spanish architectural buildings. One of the neatest places to have a cup of Coffee in Christchurch.
Love the hot chocolate here! Well located place and nice smoked salmon, but the poached eggs were dry, good food anyway.
The strongest tasted coffee I've had in Christchurch, to keep up with the name of this place, they don't have decaffeinated stuff FYI. Easy ordering, fast with take away, alterations with drinks, friendly staff. The indoor area of the cafe is small, with limited cabinet food, but there are a few more tables for outdoor seatings. Great place to enjoy some antique atmosphere surrounded by heritages while having a decent dose of coffee.
Amazing coffee and good food. Fast service. There is a outdoor seating and an upstairs dining area also. Popular for takeaway coffees. Also have juice and smoothies. Just outside the scenic New regent Street so ideal for a wander around there after your coffee or meal.
One of my favourite cafes in Christchurch, outstanding food and the best fried chicken burgers I've ever had. I recommend this place to everyone who asks about a cafe in Christchurch. It has awesome staff and also a great atmosphere which is why I always choose to come back here!
Great food, great coffee and a broad menu - located in a stunning spot on the end of New Regent St. Also the toastie was pretty damn good too...just a shame the plastic trays weren't suitable and we ended up with sauce all over the table.
