The food was amazing. Great service too. Also was great that there was a free shuttle arrangement between the motel we stayed and the restaurant: they picked us up and dropped us back at the motel. Very very friendly people. Would definitely go back and would recommend.

Excellent value for money. The taste is great. The restaurant has a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. Background noise is not a problem, it is a good place for group discussion. Very friendly service. The option to bring your own drinks is also great!

Wonderful and consistent Thai- definitely one of the better Thai restaurants in Chch. It's always tasty and well presented and the staff are friendly and attentive. One thing to note is that the meals are quite spicy so I often go for mild here when I usually go for medium anywhere else.

Went to the Abalone for a team lunch. The restaurant was warm and had a lovely feel inside. The lunch menu had some good varieties. The Pad Thai I ordered was amazing, one of the best I have had. Everybody was happy with their food. Very happy with the quantity and the pricing. The waitress could be a bit more pleasant though :) Will return, may be for dinner this time.

Ordered a chicken cashew, Thai mussaman and Thai beef salad.<br/>Extremely disappointed with each meal being filled with overcooked meat and chewy, the vegetables consisting of carrot and not much else and minimal flavor.<br/>We called the restaurant to express our disappointment and instead of offering any solution or apology was met with a brash I will tell the chef.<br/><br/>Very disappointing and will not recommend anyone to dine there.

Tonight we ate in. We have to say this is the worst Thai that we have ever had. The massamun curry had watties frozen veg in it and for medium it lacked flavor! Very disappointing, and the Pad Med Ma Muang was very sweet. We had to go and ask for drinks rather than table service as it was very slow as they seemed to prioritize take-aways. The positive was the decor. We would not recommend this restaurant.

We had a takeaway, very dissapointing to say the least.<br/>The Pad Thai was the worst I have ever had, not even rice noodles. It was just egg noodles mixed with a bit of chicken, a few bean sprouts and chilli sauce with a few bits of peanuts.<br/>The curry was what we could make at home, $40 for the combo.<br/>Shame as the owners review said one of the best. Would not return.

Takeaways tonight, they were pretty good. The egg fried rice had nice flavours, but the frozen veges - diced carrots etc seem a bit low grade. Not much egg which was disappointing. Delicious fat prawns were the star of this dish. Not too greasy and not too salty either, would get this dish again.<br/>Pad Khing (chicken stir fry with ginger) was also yummy, delicious flavours. Quite light and the ginger flavour is fantastic.<br/>Good prices for the meal too.

Tried the restaurant again recently and I have to say the food - particularly the wild pork and wild venison was superb. The menu is extensive and because its easy to read, with pics of some of the dishes, it encourages you to explore Thai cuisine. Service was good - food was great - and the new decor is looking good as well. I would rate this as the best Thai food in ChCh.

After waiting 45 minutes (not 15, as had been stated), we received our delicious smelling meal...notably before the poor customer beside me who'd been waiting over an hour. When we got it home it was less than average - we had the mussels and the thai beef salad. The other point to note is the signage saying they have venison and ostrich. Well not according to the person at front of house, who scanned the menu and said "oh we musn't be doing that anymore". Overall a very disappointing experience and a restuarant we would highly UNrecommend.

Excellent range of meat. I had the wild pork and my partner the wild venison which was cooked to perfection with a lovely range of thai spices. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the staff are friendly and efficient and well presented.<br/>Would highly recommend this restaurant for a wonderful night out!
