Ambiance was nice and quiet, with a bit of good music on the background. Food service was excellent and the waiter made our dining experience wonderful making sure we are well accommodated. Food delivery took a bit of time but I'll live with it. Recommended.

Had an amazing meal with my husband the service was fantastic would highly recommend to everyone to go there for a meal. The scallop starter was amazing and the Angus steak was cooked to perfection. Also a must to try the pims cocktail made by the lovely barman George who also recommended our lovely meals

Tudor Restaurant, nestled in the quaint Ye Olde English Heartland Cotsworld Hotel on the bustling Papanui Road, is an exquisite local haven more and more of the good people of Christchurch ought to put on their dinning bucket list. The menu may seem at odds with it's Old England theme and rustically preserved dining area but it is nevertheless very appetising. Their pea and leek arancini balls truly had us salivating and their lentil and mushroom lasagna was fit for a new world King. The main portions were incredibly gregarious and we accompanied these with two sumptuous sides: one a potato and kumara gratin and the other a platter of roasted veges. Both were very appetising even though we felt a creamy sauce would have complemented the gratin. The gravy that came with the gravy was tasty and nicely condimented. Our waiter was exceptional and served us with a polished and professional standard splashed with a dash of human warmth. We were recommended a wonderful brew (Emerson's) we'd never tried before and this accentuated the joy of our dinning. I'd definitely love to return with my carnivorous palate to try one of their meat orientated dishes. A friend tells me their thrice cooked pork is heavenly. A wonderful performance, a charming ambience and all our requests were met. Please pass our regards on to your excellent chef.

We were the only guests tonight. And that's only thanks to Covid and no tourists in town. We had a great waiter, Tony. And the food was spot on. Presented really beautifully and tasted amazing! (I had the lamb. So good!). Both the entree (pea and leek arancini) and dessert (peanut caramel cheesecake) was really delicious as well. Do try and support this restaurant. Like many, it's struggling.

Had dinner there on a Sunday night. Great service from the waiter/bartender who was looking after the place (thanks George!) He recommended several dishes and they were all great and came out quite quickly Didn’t have space for dessert at the end!
