This is without a doubt my favourite cake shop in Christchurch (and of any I've visited in different cities/countries too!) Beautiful, beautiful delicate cakes, sold by the slice or you can order a full cake to pick up (sometimes they have some whole cakes in the cabinet for spur of the moment cake needs too). Their biscuits on the counter are SO good too - in wee packs to take away with you.
Yahagi do coffee and hot chocolate too, and have two wee tables for pairs to dine in and sit for a chat.

This has to be the best fancy cake bakery in Christchurch! Their award winning chocolate mousse filled cakes are to die for. They only use the purest ingredients available - think pure vanilla vs vanilla essence. The difference - albeit subtle - is definitely noticeable. The service and presentation is exemplary. Every special occasion is celebrated with a treat from Yahagi!

The only place to go for the most incredible mouth-cake experience! Yahagi are also very helpful with larger orders: my English students and I ordered a class lot of individual cakes for a class celebration. We changed the order twice, got exactly what we had asked for and I was accompanied out to the car with the stack of boxes to make sure they got to my cart safely! The bliss on everyone's faces was obvious while we ate. Cake perfection. :)

One of my favourite places! I visit frequently for macarons and I've gotten my birthday cake from here for the past several years. Highly recommend their Green Tea Gateau, but the other cakes and tarts are also great. The staff are always very nice and welcoming, and the atmosphere of the place is cute in general. <br/><br/>Would highly recommend visiting if you're in the area!

Great little patisserie shop full of delicious and beautiful looking cakes.<br/><br/>The green tea cake is devine! Flavours are perfectly balanced the cake is fluffy and light. Each mouthful is a great delight.<br/><br/>The raspberry rouge is beautifully made.. almost too pretty to eat. But once you dig into one, you just won't stop.<br/><br/>Can't wait to try all of their other cakes.

Another exciting find when roaming around Riccarton. All the items in the display looked really tasty but went with the chocolate tart. The macaron on top was a nice start but it was the best component. I found the chocolate in the tart a bit on the bitter side and the strawberry on the sour. I also found the base a bit too crumbly. Should've tried the mousse since it had won a award.

Love manager and cute little set up. The cakes are a bit more expensive but it is what you would expect for a quality product. It is not jam packed with sugar like other bakeries - the sponge and mousse are always fluffy. I recommend the Mont Blanc and Chocolate Mousse!

Too good to be described. please try it.

The best bakery in town. Their chocolate mousse is a must try. Everything else is just as wonderful. The staffs are always so friendly and lovely which makes me forgive them for not being open on Sundays and Mondays. They also make the very nice and rich Belgian hot chocolate, and the green tea latter is a must try. Never disappoints.

Generally the desserts look delicate and beautiful! And the taste is even better. Constantly I love to get something sweet here. The service is very good too. Even it's a bit expensive still worth it.<br/><br/>And oh yes! Don't forget to try the hot chocolate there! Best in town!

This is my third time to visit the bakery since I was back from overseas! I tried the new raspberry mousse.... it is beautifully presented with the great texture of sweet pastry filled with almond paste and the velvety mousse with a tang of raspberry filling on top. The chocolate mousse is rich and bitter sweet which I really like. The display cabinet has a few selections but very impressive ..as if I was transported back to Ginza, Tokyo... salute to the award winning Pastry Chef....

Absolutely delicious and pretty cakes! The Strawberry Shortcake I had was delicious and creamy and my boyfriend's chocolate mousse was very rich! One of the best cakes I have ever had and the owner was very nice as well :)
