This is my favourite Thai Place, the food has been absolutely delicious every time, does not compare to the couple other Thai Places I have tried. I love the curries, it's so damn good it's become my favourite food and I've tried to make it at home but it's never as good. Friendly staff and quality food.
we were not sure what to expect when we got there but when the food arrived - it was superb and the serves very generous . Certainly beats a lot more fancy Thai restaurants in taste.
Always great food, big portions and fast service . Their mint lamb is one of our favorites and we have never found it anywhere else, best Thai takeaway I have had! Only downfall is that they don't have rotis!
Truly the best Thai in Christchurch! Over the xmas break I struggled to find a Tom Kar Gai that was even half as good as Thai Kitchen's! Also their Larb is fantastic.
This is my local Thai joint an I think its awesome!!! Very authentic flavours every dish is a delight favourite being the beef laarb and the red curry :)
The menu card photos present here are a bit outdated. There has been an approximate increase of 2$ for each item in the menu card as of now.
The soup was excellent and served 4 people. The quantity of the items match the prices and it's worth a visit.
The food ThAi Kitchen produces is literally a party in the mouth. With amazing flavors, quality meat, fresh veggies, great quantity and friendly and quick service... we quickly made this place our go to for thAi takeaways.

Great food and friendly staff. Best value, fresh authentic Thaifood in town. We drive all the way from Sumner to eat at the Thai Kitchen. For vegetarians like us, there is the whole menue to choose from as they just add tofu instead of animal...

After numerous restaurants in Christchurch disappointed on the Thai front I am delighted to say the cuisine is alive and well at The Thai Kitchen!! Value for money is unparalleled and the Pad Thai is exceptional. My only slight hiccup whilst eating in was satay skewers were dry but now well into double figures of visits here and it really is some of the best in chch... Staff are also very friendly despite a couple of negative reviews (rubbish) about waiting time, good things come to those who wait people!! Definitely worth it!!
I have just found this little gem of place just recently. The food is exceptional and the Yellow Curry is to die for! Great portion sizes and the vegetable selection is top notch. Keep up the good work!!👍🤤
Have been coming to the Thai Kitchen for many years. Despite much research sampling other thai restaurants around Chch in pursuit of the best, Thai Kitchen quality can't be beaten. Curries are always generous portions with high quality ingredients. Always keen to recommend this place to friends in conversations of where to find the best Thai Curries for dinner
I recently visited Thai Kitchen and was blown away by the quality of the food and the excellent service. The restaurant has a cozy and inviting atmosphere, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout my meal. The menu offers a great selection of authentic Thai dishes, and everything I tried was absolutely delicious. The portion sizes were generous, and the prices were very reasonable for the high quality of food. I highly recommend Thai Kitchen to anyone looking for a great dining experience!
The BEST prawn dish in town... Choo Chee prawns from the Thai Kitchen. Lots of prawns , great vegetable selection and flavours to die for. Never fails to impress and delight. Thank you!
My absolute go to Thai restaurant on the south side, for a Tom Kha Gai. Their fried pork pieces are pretty legit too!! Good size and quite reasonable priced for both, compared to the other restaurants on this side of town.
Pad Thai is pretty good too.
Rang takeaway order through....Was told "15 minutes"...Arrived 15 minutes later and it was there, ready. We've been eating Thai food for MANY years and are really discerning about what's great...and not so great. We've now decided this is our "go to" Thai place!!!The young woman there had a smile and a friendly welcome, despite being on her own, busy, taking orders and cooking, on a very hot evening. The food was DELICIOUS and servings so large, we had leftovers for the next day as well!! Thank you, The Thai Kitchen!
hands down the best thai i’ve ever had, and this is my go to cuisine when eating out! we ordered takeaway, yet they still poured so much love into the presentation by embellishing each dish with handcrafted garnishes and a generous variety of fresh veges and meat. the flavours were insane and better than all of the boujee thai spots in auckland combined! i’m lowkey gutted that i don’t live in chch, otherwise this would be my regular spot FOR SURE!

The most authentic Thai food I've ever had in New Zealand. Nowhere else I've tried comes close. The quality of the ingredients and presentation is what you'd expect in a good restaurant and the flavours are amazing. Most other Thai takeaways are very bland and Westernised and often it's obvious they've used a bag of frozen vegetables, which certainly isn't the case here.
