We celebrated our kid’s birthday there. The restaurant should be under the new management. The food was nice, especially the roast pork. The staffs were very friendly. My daughter enjoyed her birthday arrangement and the free cupcake with a candle and the birthday card. The buffet price is quite reasonable in today’s world.

We visited Valentine's Hornby on Friday 14 April 2023. We've enjoyed our recent dinner visits here, as the food has been really nicely cooked & is full of flavour.
The head chef has significantly improved the dishes from what they were in the past. There is a good range of buffet dishes to suit or cater to everyone's tastes and/or dietary requirements.
We really appreciate the time & effort that the chefs & kitchen staff put into making the wide variety of dishes on offer.
The staff are friendly and kept on top of clearing plates from our table.
It pays to arrive early as parking is limited directly outside the business. If you happen to miss out on a park right outside, then don't despair as you can park just around the corner. It's only a few minutes stroll away.
It would be good if people could show their support for Valentine's, as it's so good to have a buffet option available in the Hornby area.

Really well deserved of these stars, the price is reflective of the food but very much to my liking.
Small but nice environment, Good service, desserts are more interesting than other dishes, but never seen them refill the food.
The greeters at the reception/bar area exhibited exceptional professionalism and hospitality.
The young waitress displayed an impressive level of friendliness, going the extra mile to inquire about our previous visits and ensuring our comfort.
The chef, too, took the time to personally check if everything was to our satisfaction, particularly our enjoyment of the steak.
The young male waitress actively engaged with us, displaying genuine interest in our well-being.
The establishment itself was impeccably clean and tidy, and both the food and staff exceeded our expectations.
When we inquired about the private function room, we received the answers we were seeking.

Absolutely loved the lunch. It was our 20th wedding anniversary and Valentine's went all out, with a special balloon and a lovely cupcake with a lighted candle. So lovely. Fabulous caring staff, lovely food and great table service. We would highly recommend Valentine's to everyone ❤️
We were in christchurch for a wedding and did a family dinner Friday and then went back again Sunday night and the food is amazing the one in rotorua not so great but christchurch you really have it going on would definitely recommend it to anyone going down south
