Came in with the family just looking for something to eat. Ended up getting one of the $28per person set menus. Great food, great service. Even just the cheep option was more than enough to feed us. The chicken and corn soup was delicious. Definitely would come back while in Dunedin again.

I love the West lake chowder soup and the stewed crab roe and tofu, rich flavors and definitely value of money.
Super friendly staff, definitely will be back.

This was a delightful surprise, a tight, friendly, clean and well run ship. Went with the banquet at the top of the menu's first page, second option. 9 generous dishes, served with a smile, chef made the time to personally deliver the crispy chicken to our table. Loved the experience and very keen to return.

We got 4 kids and 4 adults for lunch, yummy food with cheap price. Love the sweet tofu and crispy bird nest, sizzling seafood serve hot and all the food are delicious! Recommend for family or even couples.

China Palace is my go to place for both Fish and Chips and dining in at the Restaurant. Their battered onion sausage is really nice. My husband loves the meat patties and I the fish. We have the above most often but enjoy mixing it up from the menu for a change. Also buy bluff oysters when they are in season. When we eat in we get a banquet, I love that we know what its going to cost especially if we are paying for multiple people. The food is very tasty and is good value.

I have not rated atmosphere as only went to takeaway section not into restaurant. Some days awesome food, occasionally above average. Consistent enough to have me going back. Their Chinese food is awesome 👌

Good food for a good price! Took a medium sized combo for $7 NZD. A medium size gave me plenty of food and I could choose by myself which kind of dishes I wanted to combine.

Satay chicken burgers are my favourite here, but I regularly buy good old fish n chips, fried rice and noodle dishes. Always delicious and staff are really friendly and service is fast most of the time. Interesting notices/bulletins etc on the walls to read while you wait.

Never had to wait long. Always order the buffet. Change it a bit. No problems with that.

Arrived 30th July no booking and promptly seated. Clean and warm. Ordered entree, mains and drinks. Entree arrived FAST and hot. Mains arrived in shortly after starter was cleared. Hot, tasty and very, very filling! Value for money -$45 -and left with a doggy bag of the leftovers.<br/>Highly recommend!

My sister & I always get deliverys from here & we always love it! Best chinese place we've been to in Dunedin. Great value for money with the meals being a very good size, always really lovely staff over the phone, great customer service & the food is always delicious! Cant rave enough about it =)

Visiting Dunedin from outside Melbourne in March 2012. Chanced on China Palace for dinner. Good menu. Great prices. The $20 Buffet was excellent value. Enjoyed the meal a lot. Highly recommended.

Takeaway fish 'n' chips - Very clean efficient premises, food quality fine, but main surprise was the reasonable prices ($1.20 minimum for chips is minuscule these days!). I see they also offer "small" Chinese meals like chicken fried rice for just $5 (or $4 at lunchtime, I think), 2-filling toasted sandwiches mainly $2.90, and small budget fizz bottles $1. Great. :-)

Have been here several times. This is our place to get sat night fish and chips. Restaurant is by far the best Ive been to. Always go for the 20$ buffet. You get soup, entree, rice and 2 dishes for 2 people, add an extra dish for each extra person up to 8 dishes so 3 people = the soup, entree and rice plus 3 dishes. 8 people = the above plus 8 dishes. If you have around 12 people you will get x2 lots. Value for money, tasty dishes, very filling, plenty of food, great service. Lovely staff. Highly recommended

We had a meal at China Palace.<br/>The Starter platter was mini spring rolls and chichen nibbles plus and chicken and pork mini ribs. a couple of others. dipping sauce sweet and sour. OK ish<br/>Mains Platter of shrimps chicken and pork bits all deep fried, couldn't tell one from another except deep fried prawns which had shell on them under batter. This plate was meant to with pineapple and onion and in a tasty sauce. haven't seen an onion yet and there was a few pieces of raw pineapple thrown on top. the sauce was the same dipping sweet and sour sauce as platter. NOT value for money not NOT nice.<br/>The other main was crispy chicken was OK but just plain chicken and nothing else.<br/>The whole meal was most disappointing and would not ever go there again.
