Review Pizza Bella - Dunedin

Had the famous waffles for breakfast and was not disappointed! So tasty. Also had a take away falafel wrap for lunch, really good too!

The burger was ordinary but the pizza and waffle were yum, I'll come back for the pizza and try another flavour. One thing they need to improve is the service.

Absolutely banging pizza, I had the Mexican nacho one and damn! It wasn't even like a pizza, it was so authentic and tasty and just like nachos it was quite amazing, the crust was perfect, it was relatively thick and soft and well cooked. The person I was with had the tandoori chicken and that was the same, it was nothing like a pizza and just like Indian food. It was really fantastic, definitely recommend to anyone on George Street.

I ordered the big bro burger and "my gawd" it was amazing! I've also had the bbq, chicken and bacon pizza from Pizza Bella and remember it being really good too. Highly recommend this place!

Really flavourful and delicious waffles and shakes. My favourite combination is the snickers waffles. Not heaps of seating here so can get busy but takeaways are just as good

This shop is rather small but it was very clean and tidy. The single person working for lunch was quite efficient and versatile; handling cooking, serving, prep, and cleaning all by himself. The single burgers were a decent size without being so large as to be unable to be eaten without dislocation of one's jaw. Very delicious with a good mix of flavours and a wide range of available burgers. Quite a fair price for what was received.

The waffles are so delicious, and the food is really well presented. Wedges are only like $6 and they are super nice as well. It stays open quite late too which is a plus. The only downsides are that the staff could be more welcoming and friendly, and that they ensure water is always accessible to customers. Thanks for the food!

Very friendly staff and manager. My mates and I went there for dinner (and majority of us are students and we are part of the student association which grants us discounts). Even though the discount is valid for lunch, the manager offered us free chips for our purchase which we are grateful for. Small gestures such as this would definitely go a long way!

The food is outstanding. The chicken cranberry brie pizza and the pulled pork pizza are delicious. The waffles and ice cream are amazing. The salty goodness is my favourite. Shakes are equally amazing...Oreo is my favourite but the peanut butter chocolate one is darn good as well. Late hours are an awesome perk too. The only reason not to give it 5 stars is 2 times I've been there I have been served by a gentleman who was completely silent and expressionless. It was sort of weird. For example, I ordered waffles from the beginning but he waited to put them on until we had finished pizza so that it would be fresh. When I went up to tell him we were ready for waffles, he didn't look up from his phone until I started speaking, and then when I was done he just nodded and looked back at his phone for about 5 more minutes when he decided to start making the waffles. While normally this sort of service would warrant less than 4 stars, the food is so outstanding that I can't possibly hold back from recommending it. It is also worth noting that every other person there has been super enthusiastic and friendly and greeted me with the traditional "welcome, bro".

So if it's waffles you want? They got that gooood stuff here!! So many flavors, all good choices. Milkshakes are top shelf stuff too. That's only dessert! If you hunger is more savory inclined pizzas, wraps and heaps more on offer. It's pricey but worth it in my opinion.

I went here with my boyfriend yesterday, and damn the pizza is good! I was unsure about having butter chicken on a pizza, but boy I was wrong to doubt it! Great pizza place, and the mocha shakes are delicious. Staff are friendly and say goodbye to you when you leave. Totally recommended!

Came here for their hyped waffles. Got the salty goodness flavor and they were alright. Not the most amazing waffles out there but decent for the price and such. I think it’s the toppings piles on and the drizzle of sauce that makes it look like an appetizing meal; when you look at each components, it’s in fact a very simple dessert you could recreate nothing special about it that you couldn’t put together yourself. The waffles were just not as crispy as I’d like, although they weren’t soggy, they just lacked a little bit of life. They weren’t too doughy either thank goodness. Not a bad dessert though, still yummy and appeals to my sweet tooth. <br/>7.5/10

I have ordered Mr.Veggie pizza. It came out so colourful but then the taste wasn't great. The crust was not soft and the veggie toppings were slight better to finish the rest of it. We can get a good pizza with the same price in other outlets. Little disappointed with the taste.

Only had the waffles here. Wanted to try it out after everyone had been talking about it and it didn't disappoint. Very good waffles indeed!

I really enjoyed the food, and the service was good. The price was getting up there but was definitely worth it will be returning very soon.

Mosgiel branch. Some of THE worst and MOST expensive pizza I have ever had -- right up there with Biggies. The crust is a bland cracker-type (not yeast risen) you'd find on a generic frozen pizza and was quite rubbery with no crunch or character at all. The toppings were pretty much flavourless. For a pizza smaller than a vinyl album (10") they charge $20 plus $2.50 more if you want 1/2 & 1/2 and $2 on top of THAT if you want a substitute topping--which comes to $24.50. The "20 minutes" for it to be ready was actually 40 minutes and the inside of the establishment was so smoky from the ovens that they had to have the front door open in freezing weather to air it out.

I do not recommend this place. For $23.00, we received the smallest 'large' pizza I've ever seen. The crust was bland, as were the toppings. When will pizza restaurants in Dunedin realize that a pizza crust is as important as what goes on it? And that flavour is a good thing? Don't waste your hard earned money Dunedinites.

Was excited to try pizza bella and wasn't let down. I ordered the butter chicken pizza which was unique and tasty. The base was really nice and crunchy and not soggy at all, also there was little to no crust - yay to more fillings! My friend got the meat lovers one which was pretty one dimensional and really salty so I wouldn't recommend that unless that's what you're in to. I love their variety of different pizzas and shakes that you won't find in many places. We also ordered the wedges which were good but nothing amazing. <br/><br/>Be prepared to wait a while as they do make everything from scratch so it will take about half an hour, give or take. <br/><br/>I'm yet to try their shakes or waffles but have heard amazing reviews from my friends so will definitely come back to try them.

This place is terrible. I am not a fussy person BUT they charge a lot for terrible pizza. My friend and I waited for our food for over 30min, it was a pjta that only needed to be heated up.<br/>The pizza is horrible too<br/>Not OK, I'm not fussy, but this place is terrible

This place deserves to see much more traffic than it does right now (spring 2015). Food quality is top-notch, even for those on a gluten free diet. Prices are competitive and servings are generous! Ask for the Peanut Butter Chocolate Caramel shake.

Was recommended here for the waffles. Super friendly staff, asked the girl what she recommended from the waffle menu and she said Salty Goodness, or a new waffle item with mangoes, so went for that instead. Definitely a good idea, because it was amazing, the crispy waffles went so well with cold ice cream and the sweet mango and mango syrup. Not so keen on the crunchy mango pieces in it though, tasted a bit like burnt popcorn.
