$17 for chicken ramen. Pretty decent portion, super yummy, and extremely fast service. Go to when feeling under the weather and on a budget.

Very sweet staff and nice atmosphere. The agedashi tofu is a fave, nice and soft and silky. Vegan options available :)

I had the karaage chicken with curry & it was really good! I was surprised by the amount of chicken it had (a lot!)

Enjoyable experience for lunch with friends. Extremely affordable and nice prompt service. It is a little cramped so may be difficult for larger people to visit, but we didn't find this too off-putting Great for students!

I’ve had numerous meals here and they’ve all been delicious. The teriyaki chicken on rice, chicken karaage on rice with mayo, and the Japanese curry are so good. Highlight is the satay, it’s my favourite place for satay chicken in Dunedin. The sushi is always fresh and they make it to order. Super friendly, they make an effort to remember frequent customers.

Fabulous Japanese food at a really good price, highly recommend

Absolutely best sushi in Dunedin! I normally go for the crispy chicken, and it's amazing! Had a riceball today for the first time, and wow its good! Plus the dude who normally makes the sushi is lovely!

I am a local and have eaten here for over 15 years. The sushi is always made fresh, is of consistently good quality (up with the best in town) and is one of the most reasonably priced. The service is friendly and fast.

Inexpensive casual dining place with a good range of menu items. Sushi is always prepared fresh which is a big plus too. Might not be truly authentic Japanese food but what they offer certainly are tasty and enjoyable.

The Salmon Nigiri and chicken Karaage was awesome! The location is great with friendly service. I really enjoyed having dinner here :) I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys cheap but nice food.

This is our regular, haven't tried anything else except the satay vegetable with extra tofu , our favourite, I don't know how they make it so yum, what's the recipe?

Having tried some Japanese fare in Auckland and Christchurch, I thought it might be an idea to try some in Dunedin. The fare in Auckland and Christchurch didn’t really set anything alight and I think it was roughly the same story in Dunedin.

I’m not sure exactly why but the service was not too friendly at least initially. I was simply shown the menu and informed that I had to order and pay at the counter. If I remember correctly, I went with the agedashi tofu and the pork katsu don. I say if I remember correctly because looking at the picture, the tofu doesn’t look quite recognisable. It had a hard and crusty exterior and needed a lot of sauce. The pork katsu don was better and the rice was appropriate but it wasn’t an outstanding dish.

The interior was tasteful and the service improved later on but overall the food seemed to be just average.

Love Tokyo house! We go there at least once a week because the food is awesome. Everything on the menu is yum, especially the freshly made sushi and teriyaki beef. The meals always come out quick and good portion sizes. Take away is quick and easy too. 5 star for sure.
