Undoubtedly, for me, the best fish n chips shop in Dunedin. I don’t eat fnc regularly but every time I have eaten, it’s been amazing. Chips - crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Cod cooked to perfection and batter not too thick but perfectly crispy. Keep up the awesome work TAKEAWAYS ON MARLOW. Must try.

Someone says it is the best fish n chips store… When we arrived at 4:59pm, there were 4 people already waiting for the doors to open. It says the n the door they usually open at 4:30pm but today they open at 5. When people are waiting at the door, you know it is going to be good. 5:03 the doors were open and we all entered eagerly waiting to be served. Being in the South Island Blue Cod is THE fish to have whereas in the North Island it is Snapper. At $13.50 a piece for Blue Cod, you sort of have to weigh up whether to get it or not. We decided on 1x Cod, 2x Fish (no idea what type of fish it was) and one lot of chips. Came to $29. The Blue Cod was fresh and lightly battered. It had a nice crunch. I have to say the portion was smallish. It was forked so me and my wife shared a piece each. Cooked to perfection and the fish was falling apart with freshness! The other two fish was quite flat in comparison, but the batter was thin and crispy. The fish itself was fresh and once again falling apart. Both fish was really nice to eat. The two fish were huge! And well worth the $6 each. The Blue Cod was $13 and thought it was on the higher price mark. I have to say the Blue Cod is a nicer fish compared to the Snapper. The chips were well cooked. Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. If you are going n Dunedin, this place is a MUST GO FOR FISH N CHIPS.

Literally the best place in Dunedin for fish and chips. Excellent value for money, the fish was huge. Recommend you ask for half a scoop if you're eating alone. Staff were friendly and professional, definitely be back there.

Best fish and chips we've had in years, the blue cod was amazing, I don't normally like fish and chip shop fish but we ate every piece, apparently our fish broke in half so he gave us an extra piece. Service was great, we waited in our car and he said he would bring it out to us, top man seemed to love his job. We will definitely be back.

This is so unbelievable. Old style 1980's fish and chips. Awesome service, awesome food. I'll never eat the rubbish in Invercargill again, I'll wait until I return to Marlow Dunedin. Thank you young fella. Sorry no photos, my mouth started working before I could take any photos.

The best Fish & Chips in Dunedin! The regular fish size was so huge in itself. The chips were carefully cooked and salted. Very nice old-timer running the place with his family. Thank you

Chips were nice and a generous helping. Will try asking for extra crispy next time. Blue cod portion smaller than expected and dry. Not worth splashing out on. Staff friendly and service was quick. Nice place for basic fish and chips and I love the look of the burgers.

We spent a couple of months in Dunedin housestting and our host family recommended this as their favourite and ‘the best’ fish and chips in Dunedin. We actually had to drive past 5 other places - albeit less than 10 minutes - to get from Kew to St Kilda and found this F&C shop all by itself down a quiet residential street. The (tiny) trip was worth it - great Fish and Chips - generous servings, fast and fresh (no stale oil here, that’s for sure). Trudy is a great lady and we really miss our weekly treat now that we’ve moved to the next housesit. We’ve tried, variously, the regular fish, hoki, the sole, the calimari, the blue cod... all fabulous. We find Wednesday night to be the best - just turn up and order and it’s no longer than 10 minutes - we have to say - if you’re going Thurs/Fri/Sat - couldn’t hurt to phone ahead and order as this place is super popular with locals and gets busy.

First time for me today as I live in West Harbour. Has to be the best fish burger I've had. This is a gem tucked away from the main stream and quality and portion size is just the best. Reminds me of the old days when you got value for money. Highly recommended.
