Great wee spot to stay before hitting the Paparoa Track. West coast historical style hotel, with outstanding food and great linen, we all had fantastic sleeps despite the town fire siren going off at 2am. Exceptional customer service and great banter with the locals. Highly recommend experiencing this small town that oozes history and true West Coast culture. Great value for Money too!

Good old fashioned building and service!! Please do not modernize this. Huge meals and very prompt . Friendly helpfull staff. Tidy clean rooms. Everything you need. Very recommended

Such a great day out in Blackball with so much to see and do. Fantastic service and the food was great. The chicken burger was huge, bangers and mash with blackball salami sausage so delicious. We sat out in the sun and was just so lovely, will definitely be back.

Fantastic place. Excellent fresh ingredients and amazing chef. Great friendly staff especially Shelley. When I arrived I was amazed that no one told me I would have to clean my own room. This is what I was told in the Hilton hotel Biscayne Avenue Miami recently. I will definitely stay in this wonderful Hilton again. The ghosts are also very friendly.

This pub is amazing! The BEST 'Bangers and Mash' EVER! So much so, we went to the Blackball Salami store (just around the corner) and bought some sausages, salami, and Black pudding for our trip home. I could have spent an entire day inside this pub looking at all the historical photos and memorabilia. Simply amazing.

Provided you aren't expecting modern 5 star luxury this place will blow you away. A great place to stay full of history and character. Comfortable, clean rooms in a grand old hotel. The food is high end pub food. Stayed here the night before departure for the Paparoa trail and it has everything you need, plus they do packed lunches for the trail. Met some cool local characters at the bar. Will definitely be back!
