Popular cafe in Hamilton Central, reasonable priced, excellent service, great coffee, good value with GrabOne voucher. Can be quite busy at lunch time though.
Seriously this Cafe is amazing! The food is always so yummy, it’s reasonably priced and the coffee is delicious! We have always enjoyed our meals here, the atmosphere is pretty good. It’s a little cramped inside, but it’s lovely sitting outside on a nice day. Definitely recommend giving this place a go! Yummy
Great food and staff are nice- some customers that come here can be somewhat pretentious but that's ok coz the food made up for it and glad they have a little alcohol beverage selection! I recommend the corn fritters- huge portion, so probably a good plate to share nom nom
Best place in Hamilton.
The staff were such salt of the earth kiwis with excellent banter. I came here on a date and they accommodated perfectly and the recommendation of the hash stack and the corn fritters was the best thing that's come into my life since Stranger Things season 2 came out.
The ambiance is chill and almost feels like Wellington. Quality coffee topped off a great morning in the Tron.

Stumbled across this place this morning what can i say by far the best cafe ive been too walked in was greeted by a friendly waitress. Their portion size for the French toast was bang on.
Will highly recommend this place hands down the most friendliest stuff.

Lovely coffee and friendly staff. The food was tasty and there was a good range to choose from. I had some lovely corn fritters. Would definitely visit this cafe again.

Always great service and great food. Never had a bad experience here. Definitely my favourite cafe in hamilton. Every dish I've tryed has been delicious and the staff are so helpful.

Walked in this morning after the ANZAC Dawn Service, & was greeted immediately by a friendly waitress. The cafe looked very inviting. There were a few people there, so we were happy to grab an empty booth nearby. Menu looked delicious! I ordered eggs bene vegatarian. Our hot meals arrived in 15 minutes. Big portions, but oh so yummy! Mine had portobello mushrooms, roasted peppers, spinach, 2 eggs with creamy hollandaise sauce on thick toasted crusty bread. Fabulous!!! Ate it all! Hot chocolate was delish too. All in all Service great! Staff attentive & friendly, fabulous menu, & atmosphere very nice. Will definitely return. Thank you!
A group of 3 of us went here for Sunday lunch. Nice enough but not amazing. It wasn't busy and were were served quickly. I had mince on toast and appreciated the option of having the mince served in a bowl so the toast didn't get soggy. Lovely decor with comfortable seating that wasn't too cramped. As another reviewer mentioned, they started closing up while we were still at our table finishing up which dulls the hospitality (this is not unique to this cafe though). The custard slice looked delicious and I'll be going back to give it a try one of these days.
This was my first time eating at Markyles, and I am happy to say I will return the next time I am in Hamilton. The food was stunning, not too big but a perfect portion of deliciousness. I had the Markyles Full Eggs Benedict. The hash cakes were perfectly flavoured as was the on point Hollandaise. The eggs spewed forth luscious golden yolk that complemented the whole dish.
The latte was silky and flavourful and finished off the meal perfectly.

Great atmosphere, really nicely laid out cafe and super friendly staff every time I have been. The menu has lots of great options on it. Definitely something for everyone. Don’t get over here for lunch often but it’s one of my top picks when I can get over this side of town for a lunch. The meals are always so beautifully presented and really tasty too. Some of their specials sell out quite fast too, so I watch their socials to see what’s happening
A random find, a real hole in the wall. We would have missed it if not for the special rate in their roasted pumpkin & carrot soup at $16 (which 2 can actually share if you’re in for a light meal) advertised through a humble board sign outside the store. We also got an onsie benedict for $10 (my partner loved so much all I can here was “mmmm.. so good.. mmm.. in repeat all throughout our late lunch). The coffee was also good. So if you’re around the area, drop by. IT’s deceptively small outside but inside it’s warm and homey. Just a simple restaurant with the basics which in some days is all you need.
Amazing food, amazing staff, amazing environment, the music is always great. You can buy plants alongside your food and coffee couldn't recommend this place more

I never get my veggie scone it's always bacon scone.. 😩 I am going there again tomorrow crossing my fingers🤞 the food is really lovely and so are the staff hence would recommend visiting.. they do a half breakfast as well so that's super duper amazing... when I get my spinach and cheese scone I will give u a 5 star else to be honest u deserve a 5 star.. 😊
Came for lunch today, had the creamy mushrooms on toast...Yum!! Tasty, a decent size and my toast was crunchy, just as i like it. A busy little place, but received our coffees and food with little waiting. Definitely return, good service, yummy food and good price :) Can.t complain at all :)

A comfortable space with a fairly pleasant aesthetic. The coffee and food was acceptable. Though not exceptional. Though I'm informed both are usually better. The kitchen only had a single staff member on which made a difference apparently. Staff were pleasant and friendly and greeted us on entry.menus and pricing were clear. Not a bad stop for brunch on hood street
