Lovely staff, good hearty food, it’s my go too for fried rice. Absolutely love. Would 100% recommend too anyone. Ruby’s is the best takeaway in the business. Thank you so much staff @ Ruby’s. :)
they do really good fish n chips at ruby takeaways, tonight i thought id try some chinese, and i wasnt disappointed. i got a $45 platter and $5 chips which fed 5 adults. best takeaways this side of town.
By far the best fish and chips I've had in Hamilton. I have tried fish and chips at many local takeaways in Hamilton and this has to be my favourite. The batter is so light and crispy and not at all doughy. Haven't tried much of the stuff on their menu but I have tried the friedrice and it was delicious. It tasted very gourmet and fresh. This is definitely my one stop fish and chips shop.

Was driving back from Auckland late this avo and decided on some Chinese takeaways for dinner as it was getting late. I ordered wonton soup with extra broccoli. And they gave me the extra broccoli at no extra cost. The wontons were fresh and very tasty. Best soup I have had for a while. I have had fish and chips from Ruby's before and have always enjoyed them. Fish has always been spot on. Nice to see a well run clean takeaway so well done Ruby's.

It is rare (in Hamilton, actually probably anywhere) to get a good fish and chips shop that is also a good Chinese takeaways.
That is why I was pleasantly surprised that Ruby's is great at both!
Great fish and chip deals.
You can tell they use clean oil from the yellow tinge of the chips.The burgers always contain a satisfactory amount of melted CHEESE (if you're not a melted cheese fan stay away from the burgers that include cheese, you will regret it!)
After them being great at fish and chips, I was hesitant about trying their Chinese (As I said rare to have a place good at both)
I thought I would give their Sweet and Sour pork ago (I had given up on ordering sweet and sour pork anywhere in Hamilton as they so often now days have the pork chewy, small and soggy and I end up being disappointing I ordered it)
But this was awesome! instantly the best Sweet and sour Pork I have tried in Hamilton. (like how it should be, tender pork, thick batter with outside tad crispy)
So now I go to this place for all my Chinese, fish and chips takeaways! and I recommend you try it!
Great takeaway. Delicious food
Been our regular for 5 1/2 years. Tried everywhere else in walking distance but no match. Friendly family run chippie. Clean and great tasting. Whether you are looking for regular fish n chips, Chinese, or their special dishes - all are wonderful
Best fish in chip shop Fairfield area they just need garlic. Salt and I would have given them a 5 star recommend doing a phone order to save you on wait time recommend to all
Great local takeaway. Delicious hearty Chinese food packed with flavour. Chicken fried rice is a go-to favourite. Nice fish and chip options as well - the chips are always cooked to perfection, crispy/fluffy and well-salted. Highly recommended for a good night in. Accessible from the street front or the back carpark, with counters at both ends.
All I have to say but there's places for many many many years in a row I brought steak fried rice from this place and it had a tastes I couldn't put my finger on but couldn't get get enough of, it was delicious and amazing and i had to go back for more and more it was almost like I was in a relationship one built solely around the sensation of pleasurable eating...... in saying that a taste didn't nothing else from there except for chips and the honey chicken I got from now didn't taste like honey but from what I hear everything else has been freaking tastic.......... selectize if you enjoyed reading my posts and the pictures are posted please like and give it a thumbs up

This is our local. Pretty reasonable prices and a good mix of food items available. Fish is always nice, sometimes they have snapper available but it is expensive.
Great place to get fish and chips, and Chinese food. Always tasty and affordable. They also have generous serving sizes.
