I also recommend the sangria, it's the best I have ever tried.

Food , decor and atmosphere is great. Best Mexican in a long time. However the service not great. It felt like you bother them for showing up.

Absolutely delicious. Drinks were awesome, food was perfectly cooked and fresh and the churos ...hot with a great dousing of cinnamon sugar.
Really enjoyed the food. Lovely kick to hit. Fresh produce. Absolutely could fault the food and service.
Unfortunately the machine that makes the frozen margaritas wasnt working well so we ended up with Luke warm margaritas that weren't pleasant . And the place was actually kinda dirty we had to wipe our seats the had sauce on one and food on another and there was dead bugs along the ledges by the big windows which was pretty grotty .....
But that shouldn't stop you from trying there food fantastic menu and I still rate it 4 star
Tried the November set menu, highly recommended. Coliflor taco, veggie Colorado and churros for only $29! Very delicious, affordable, and staff were fantastic. Will definitely be going back again.
Was excited to find a mex place for lunch during our travels through Invercargill. Amigos did not disappoint. The tacos were all delicious! A flavor sensation. Staff were friendly and helpful and food despite being short of staff was fast. Thanks for such a lovely feed!
Just riding around on the bike and came upon this little cutie. Been a few years since we had a margarita and we thought why not . Then ordered a crispy Calamari and a chicken wings with rattle snake sauce . Washed down with a cold beer. The service was extremely quick and staff were very pleasant and helpful. This particular store has only been open for 1yr . There's 3 others in the South Island . The standard mandate applies for the covid rules. Plenty of seating available out the front . QR code on every table , so if you forget when entering or sitting outside you can scan while waiting for service ..

Before dining at Amigos today, I read many reviews about it that were all great and it got me thinking as to why they were all great and no bad ones at all as we are all human and do make mistakes every now and then.
So, today I got my answer. There are so many great reviews because it is great! From the moment we arrived at the door we felt looked after and welcomed by the staff and the smells coming from the open kitchen were fantastico!
The atmosphere was fun, vibrant and ecelctic and the volume of music just right.
The menu is extensive with all meat options as well as plenty of vegetarian ones too. Serving sizes are very generous and the combinations of flavours exciting. Everything tasted great and the tortilla chips they make are very more-ish! I give an A+ for food and flavour.
The service was very good too with friendly, accommodating staff and only a short wait between ordering and receiving our meals.
Best virgin mojito I've ever had!
As a first time introduction to the world of Mexican food (beyond El Paso tacos off the supermarket shelf) for myself and my friend, we couldn't be more impressed and we are already discussing future visits with our friends and families.

Taco Tuesday!! It’s quite a good price. The only reason why I’m not giving it a 5 star was because the steak tacos were a bit chewy. Otherwise the carnitas, calamaris and chicken were so delicious
