recently took my daughter to hardware bar and restaurant and the food was delicious.
The staff was super friendly and quick to serve, very professional.

This was hands down, the best dining experience I’ve ever had, surpassing The Hippopotamus restaurant in Wellington and The Old Quarter (our usual special occasion favourites)!!!
We had walked in with average expectations, but we didn’t want to drive out of the valley for a meal.
We called to book a table and we were fortunate that they were able to accomodate us on the spot.
The staff were friendly and welcoming!!! When we ordered drinks we also requested a glass of coke to arrive at the same time as our main, so often when we do this it’s forgotten and we have to follow up, not this time 💛
Entree arrived promptly and set us with excitement for dinner.
Myself and my husband ordered a beef Wellington special which was exquisite in presentation and taste!!
The chocolate bomb dessert followed and each spoonful was a delight!!
Amazing meals from high quality chefs, we are fortunate to have them in our Valley, but also the wait staff were so friendly. I can’t fault this experience at all.

Had a great dining experience at The Hardware tonight, food was great and service was amazing. The front of house guy went above and beyond to make sure the kids were happy, giving cushions to get them sitting comfortably, a picture to colour in and even a chocolate fish to keep our youngest happy. He also made sure we were aware of the deals on so we could get the best value for money. Looking forward to coming back soon!
This place is a hidden gem in the heart of Stokes Valley.
It has absolutely fantastic food, My char-grilled stiloin steak was perfectly rare, an absolute rarity these days. The pork ribs were also an absolute favourite. Drinks menu is reasonably priced with standard selections.
Service was immaculate with wait staff being quick, efficient, and incredibly helpful. We were a party of 20 (8 of these were kids) and not only were we all served quickly, but special attention was given to ensure each kid got exactly what they wanted and how they wanted it. This is remarkable when the whole restaurant was packed with hungry and thirsty patrons.
Great food and great service, great place to go for nice quiet family or date lunch or dinner and desserts are super yummy too ☺️
Was a great night out enjoy the chocolate bomb and prawns were very nice and also the decor was very trendy layout kids liked there meals and puddings

Can't fault it, first time I've eaten in Stokes Valley glad I made the effort. Heaps of parking out front. Front door should be able to be accessed by a wheelchair. Walked in warmly greeted by positive staff. Fast service food was out in no time. Was there to try burger offering for WOAP "The Porky-Pine" burger, amazing burger mixture of flavours, can get a little messy but it's so good its ooozing flavour, the Taro and Kumara chips are an interesting step up on regular chips. So far it's the best burger I've had for this years WOAP. I would recommend it and I will be back again. Plenty of seating options both indoor and outdoor. Photos show they steak days, roast days, live music Fridays etc.
