Eggs bene was perfect.i eat breakfast here once a month and i eat out at least 2 breakfast meetings a week.
The food is perfect everytime.balanced.filling.The staff are friendly as they can be considering they are always busy doing something.
coffee is always perfect here.
Food was excellent, the pizza as good as you'll find in these parts. Sadly the waitress was rude and surly.
Nothing better than a glass of bubbles, pizza bread and fresh scallop salad next to Mangonui Harbour. Fresh beautiful food great service and location. Good selection food and drinks and weekly specials.
We stopped for a salad and pizza and were glad we did. All the ingredients were fresh and tasty. The egg on the salad was cooked just right.
No shortage of seats with a view of the harbour with parking right at the door.
There is no shortage of fried food in the area and this place makes a good change.
Worth a stop if going past.

Awesome location on the waterfront, with superb views, great for brunch, lunch or dinner, or simply sit outside at a cafe table enjoying a coffee.

Great food. Dinner was delicious! Extremely fresh snapper that was caught that day.... Excellent wine (cloudy bay) and reasonable price. So good we went back for lunch the next day. The portions were great and price was good too! The fish burger was awesome!!

Monday night is Trivia Night and if you're a stranger in town you might be lucky enough to enjoy the hospitality of the locals by joining in.

We've been dining at The Waterfront Cafe in Mangonui for 12 years. No matter who's in charge, we've always gotten a very good meal and excellent service at competitive prices. We always recommend it to our friends and guests.
Highly recommended!! Outstanding dishes and everything cooked to perfection. Generous portions, which we love!! The chef was attentive on our wait time and offered us a complimentary glass of wine... The kai was well worth that wait tbh and that Jack Daniel's sauce is to die for 🤤

Best item was the mussels! The sauce they are in is unbelievable! Their garlic bread is also phenomenal. Service was great.
Just tried the new menu and was not disappointed!! Seafood was beautifully prepared. Good clean flavours and creative pairings. Dessert was delicious ending a great dinner.

It was a beautiful morning, we sat outside with a lovely view of the inlet and order the big breakfast & the plain Eggs Benedict on a spinach potato hash - both tasty.
Hubby said was the best mocha he’d ever had 10/10 - big call but he’s the mocha expert. Also in his opinion the big breakfast was missing a couple of hash browns to make it. There’s plenty of inside seating with view which is were I would sit next time because the seagulls are seconds off stealing your food (that’s nothing the cafe has any control over and comes with a beautiful sea-view), but that’s my suggestion.
This restaurant is an absolute must for anyone wanting a delicious meal and great service. The meals are delicious, beautifully presented, and plenty of it. Staff are friendly, efficient and fun. If you are passing through Mangonui or are celebrating a special occasion this is definitely the place to go. All the best gals and guys you will do well. Have a great holiday season. 😋😋😋

Went Jesse’s for dinner as we are travelling around the north.
There were 5 of us and every meal was delicious, tasty and well crafted. I had a lamb shank and apple pie for dessert. The shank was extremely tasty and fell apart easily, yet still very moist. The apple pie was divine. I wasn’t expecting a whole pie and had to share as much I would have liked to finish it all.
My only critique was that the restaurant left the front door open on a cold night and the food went cold before we could finish it.
Great little spot overlooking the bay. Great local wine list and lovely staff. Very tasty lamb pizza.
Had been driving around trying to find somewhere to stop and have breakfast and saw your doors open. Food was delicious. Service was fantastic. While it was cold and wet outside it was great to sit and enjoy your wonderful breakfast
We had dinner here over Easter weekend, shared an extra large pizza (half and half) which was delicious. Beautiful view over the harbour as the sun went down, it’s east facing and there was a full moon but it was hiding behind the clouds! The staff were friendly and welcoming, it was a really great experience
