Review Post Office Public House - Manukau

I absolutely love the Post Office Public House. We arrived just in time to relish the stunning garden view before sunset. The catch of the day left nothing to be desired, but our steak, which we had ordered medium-rare, arrived slightly overcooked. However, the mushroom sauce that accompanied it was nothing short of exquisite, elevating the already delightful meal. The atmosphere was fantastic, the service efficient, and the overall experience was worth every penny!

Wanted steak for lunch and this place popped up on google, their steak meal did not dissapoint, nice place to relax and have a few beers, play pool or watch sports. Friendly staff and will be back to try more on the menu

I had an awesome experience for my early 21st birthday celebration. It is an excellent place for functions and enjoying good quality food in a timely manner. Hence my sirloin steak dish & chicken wings were delicious. The beverages were a bonus which nicely accompanied my meal. All staff, including their manager were upbeat, professional and friendly. I would deffinately go again.

We just had my daughters 21st Birthday at the restaurant and it was an amazing night. The manager was amazing and the staff were friendly, polite and prompt with their service. The food was presented so well and delicious. Thank you for help making the night so successful and enjoyable.

I couldn’t have been more satisfied with the outcome of our experience at Post Office. Months of planning and saving went into arranging a surprise 30th birthday proposal dinner for my partner, along with our close friends and the attentive staff. The manager, in particular, was incredibly helpful, keeping us updated and ensuring everything went smoothly. The proposal was a success, thanks in part to the delicious food and the exceptional communication of the staff. On the day of the birthday, amidst nerves for the proposal, they were incredibly uplifting. To top it off, they kindly packed the leftover food for us to take away, which was a thoughtful gesture that added to the specialness of the evening. Sharing such a monumental moment with everyone made the night truly unforgettable. I wholeheartedly recommend Post Office for any events or birthdays. They offer a fantastic variety of delicious food choices alongside great customer service. Their delicious array of food options combined with their outstanding customer service truly made our celebration memorable. This place is undoubtedly a gem for anyone seeking a perfect blend of delectable cuisine and top notch service. Thank you to the entire team for making our evening unforgettable. I've used the Post Office Public House for two years in a row now to have a gathering of 20 - 30 people, and the Jannet and the team have been more than accommodating. Communication leading up to the event was fantastic even to the point Jannet personally created a sign for our gluten free and vegetarian attendees. Thanks to all the staff at POPH. Really appreciate the service.

Friendly staff. Excellent service. Tasty fresh food (catch of the day fish and arrabbiata pasta were excellent). Great cocktails even in a teapot if wish to share. Reasonably priced. Nice festive atmosphere despite corporate / airport / industrial park area. Door and outdoor options both nice. Pool table.

Staying in the area before an early morning flight and went to the Post Office Public House for dinner. Was pleasantly surprised by the quirky decor and quality of the meals in an airport perimeter location. 'Catch of the Day' fish was beautifully cooked and served with a lovely selection of veggies and green salad. Beefburger was tasty and accompanying shoestring fries were fresh and crispy. The young waitress was courteous and friendly, providing very efficient service for all food and drinks.

I found this place by mistake when driving by two days ago. I liked it so much. That I went yesterday, too. The outdoor fairy lights looked pretty, so I went in. I was pleasantly suprised when I walked in as the original details of the post office has been restored and/or upgraded while keeping the character of the building. The character details throughout are beautiful and definitely make a point of difference compared to any other establishment I've visited in NZ. Not only does this place just look different inside and out, the food and the service doesn't let it down. The menu offers original classics, and other modern fare. It feels like the owner and/or manager really got it right when selecting a menu as there's so many options for everyone. As it was 8, I only ordered fries and popcorn chicken. But I'll definitely come back to try other food. Now the best part - some of the best service I've ever experienced before, anywhere!! All the aspects of the place are just getting nailed. And I look forward to coming back.

Great place for a nice pub dinner. Atmosphere was good with very attentive service and reasonable prices. Great alternative to eating at the hotel restaurant if you're staying at the jet park hotel down the road.

Loved this place, I wish I had known about it sooner, it was packed on the Friday night I went, which is a good sign too. Great atmosphere. Food was lovely...Will definately be going back.

Nice establishment. Friendly,clean and lovely attentive staff. Price range is average. Good location avoiding busy traffic. The food I ordered was ok. If I go back I will try something else, because of the kebabs I had I am not use to those kinds of herbs and spices but that's just me.. Overall it was a nice atmosphere and I couldn't complement the staff enough because they were super awesome.

Steak so good, you can cut it with a butter knife.

We had our fathers 60th Birthday hosted here and I must say it was such an amazing experience.Massive thank you to our event planner an duty manager Janet Singh for her professionalism and best quality service and absolute legend supporting us through our event , she made us feel at ease when times got stressful leading up to our event you are truly amazing st what you do keep up the great work , leading the team and giving us the best hospitality experience , The food was just amazing all our family loved and commented on how flavoursome and well presented it was, they even asked when are you guys open during the week . The venue was so clean and tidy , everyone loved the area we used created a beautiful family atmosphere and the rest room was immaculate. The staff was so helpful and very professional anything we needed they did not hesitate to provide for us on the night.Definantly would come back again , highly recommended. Thank you so much.

We had our grandmas birthday there on the 20th August and everyone left with smiley faces. We hired the whole dining area which occupied 58 people from our event, perfect sitting area with heaps of sun and a tv also its right next to the kitchen 👍 we had buffet and the food was 👌👌👌👌.. DELICIOUS!!! Beef and pork were perfectly cooked with yummy sauces, butter chicken and rice plus chicken stir fry were perfect too... not to mention the chicken ceasar salad, that was yummy too. We got to take the left over food home afterwards. Dessert was amazing, only ice cream and cheesecake and i think that was perfect, not much but just something sweet to add to the perfect meal we had. All the young adults enjoyed the many jugs of beer from the bar so thank you.. Overall our experience was one to remember.. Thank you to Saral and the Team for an awesome day, huge thank you to the chefs 👍 We will definitely come back in future, good that its closer to home and the staff are so friendly and easy to deal with. Once again, on behalf of our family THANK YOU TEAM. GOD BLESS.

Absolutely wonderful service. Had my Austic brother’s family birthday 🎂 today. He loved the calm warm atmosphere. Loved his favourite steak meal . Everyone was comfortable and relaxed with such friendly staff on board. Loved the Smoked Ribs 👍Wonderful place for small gatherings and close to Home 💯💯👍👍

Excellent food and service, lovely atmosphere and great prices as well. The chicken and waffles...yummy! The polenta chips are awesome and the trio dessert platter is perfect to share! My new go to for good food in the airport area

Went here for dinner on Friday night and was expecting just an average kind of pub meal but was pleasantly surprised. It was absolutely amazing the food. I got an eye fillet and the mash underneath was so smooth and the sauce (not sure what it was) complimented it well. The service was very efficient and friendly too 😊

Went to this place on a Saturday evening.<br/>First impressions were that it was a odd place for a restaurant and the outside looks like it could use some TLC. Step inside and was kindly greeted and seated at our table in the restaurant area (they also have a pub/bar seated area). While we were here they had a rugby world cup game playing on the TV's, the only downside was it was really loud in the restaurant area and I couldn't have an conversation easily.<br/><br/>The food we ordered was kumara wedges/chips, garlic bread, the beef burger and nachos.<br/>The wedges were amazing!!! They were soft inside and crunchy on the outside.<br/>The garlic bread was so good including the side of dips.<br/>The beef burger was good, the bacon being a star in the meal. My partner said the pattie could have had a bit more spice but otherwise very good.<br/>The nachos was a bit of a let down. They came out below luke warm and had minimal beef throughout the meal. However the meal had heaps of guacamole and sour cream which was nice.<br/>Would we return 100% yes!

What a cute little place this was. Love their post office theme. The staff were extremely friendly especially the American (I think) slim blonde girl. She was lovely. The food was alright. I absolutely love the buffalo wings. However the chicken pizza was average & so was the chicken dish with steamed vegetables (least favourite). <br/>The restaurant was clean & beautiful & the atmosphere was nice. Good for after work drinks.

Attended twice in one week! Would've been 3 times, but they closed early Sat night! Wonderful Customer Service as always, with lovely, friendly staff ensuring we felt very welcome and comfortable always! I think the lovely American or Canadian (sorry) hostess is fabulous! I need to grab her name next time! All hostesses here are lovely and truly, your customer service trainers deserve a big high 5!! You guys rock! What a beautiful place and relaxing My flight got delayed and i found this place to have best place for glass of wine n beer. Very close to airport just 5 minutes uber.

Came in yesterday for a Valentine’s Day lunch. They have some great $15 lunch specials. We got the potato salad and the vegetarian fettuccine. Potatoes were roasted well and the fettuccine was coated nicely with sauce. Salad sauce was really delicious. Service was great and environment was romantic and relaxing.

Nice place for hanging out and having drinks after a long day at work. Staff are friendly and helpful. The place gives a cool vibe. Hope to come back and try meals as I only tried drinks.

Being here twice staff very friendly the chicken salad was ok however I had ordered the beef burger and was so disappointed that the cheese was just grated and not melted it made a big difference in taste I would definitely not order it again and I was also let down that an extra we ordered was forgotten also.

Good place for drinks and bar snacks, often with life music and great food options, I really like the pizza and there salads they offerings.

Visited here 4 weeks ago. Plenty of parking, nice interior and food was good. Only thing that was disappointing was the slack service we were left at our table with no one checking in to see if we were ready to order and if we wanted desserts etc.. I had to keep going up to the bar asking for someone to please serve us. That is not my job. When I went to pay I informed the waitress that her service was slack and she should work on meeting customer needs and not leaving us for ages. She stood there like a stunned mullet. Enough said. Is it too much to ask for good service these days?

Worth the drive out, the atmosphere is relaxing and the food is nice. I had the mac & cheese and eye fillet, both were on point. Prices are not too bad either.

When I stepped in I fell in love with the place. Great setup, modern and I love sofa seating although we didnt get placed there. Service was friendly but not so great. Orders came mixed up and took a long time, most of us had finished our meal by the time my husbands venison came out. I asked for vegan options and waitress had to check with chef and was given the choice of either a pizza or a salad. I went for pizza and was very disappointed with what I was served with👎, thin base pizza topped with pumpkin,mushrooms and jalapeno. I was expecting more vegetable toppings surely for the cost of it. My husband had the venison pie and he was so disappointed and dissatisfied, it was too salty and a puff pastry covering a small bowl of venison is not a pie. Overall unhappy about the food, usually when we are unhappy with our food we would get staff to sort it but we were with a group and didnt want to cause a fuss. my daughter ordered a pizza from the kids menu which she liked. Rating reflects our dissatisfaction with food but also because I love this place. I will definitely be coming back only because I love the interior and hopefully I'll find something I like on menu. Also I do like that this place was child friendly, even had colouring stuff for kids.

Really awesome place to go for dinner if your out by the airport. Really lovely service and the food is well priced. I started with The sirloin steak for main, it was cooked perfectly with a delicious peppercorn sauce and yummy potatoes. For desert I had the raspberry cheesecake which had a lovely flavour but I would have preferred it as an actual cake with a baked biscuit base as opposed to being. In a jar. It had nice biscotti and freeze dried Raspberrys with it too

Ordered the mac & cheese.. it came out still frozen. Nuff said! 😤. <br/>The venison pie is way over priced. It's basically I small bowl of "venison" 😒 that is very salty, a puff pastry that just sits on top like a pillow, added with powdered mash 🤢. <br/>Only thing nice about this place is the TV screening the rugby. <br/>Post office I am disappointed 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️<br/><br/><br/>

We headed for lunch here awhile ago and enjoyed our time there. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Mac and Cheese balls were amazing! Felt like the lunch menu was a little bit small but overall we enjoyed our meals.

Pan-fried snapper with green pea & crab risotto was excellent - beautifully cooked & delicious. Eye fillet with mash, portobello mushrooms & tomato was medium rare to my liking. My friend's Angus sirloin fillet looked good too.  I'd say, I'd enjoy my dinner more if the metal plates had not been used. (But this is absolutely personal.) (Food - 4/5; Service - 3.5/5; Ambience - 3.5/5)

A lot of parking spaces, very spacious interior and deco looks good. Food was average ordered steak asked for medium rare came out over cooked but the sauce was quite good.

Decided to try this place out as we had an entertainment voucher for it. Glad we made that decision. It's well presented and nicely done inside. We were quickly seated next to the fireplace. For snacks we ordered the Calamari which was cooked perfectly. For mains we had the 'In-house Tortellini' which was absolutely delicious and the 'stuffed Chicken Breast' which was really tasty too. The portions were perfect. For a pub the food far exceeded our expectations. Definitely recommend stopping here 👍🏽

Held a function here last weekend. The food was amazing at a great price and the staff were great to deal with - they were very accommodating!

Nice place lunch menu a bit small but both dishes we had were great I had Nachos hubby had fish and chips fish was very good. The place has had a facelift looks very nice :)

This is place amazing !!!<br/><br/>Staff were amazing / atmosphere is great and food was delicious.<br/><br/>Husband had the 6 chicken sliders and he said they tasted Devine.<br/>I had the stuffed tortellini - picture attached.<br/>Yum yum yum !!!<br/><br/>Others at our table had the steak and pork hock. <br/><br/>We will definitely be back !!
