Love the food here, they deserve more acknowledgement for their food. Great price range. The mussels are delicious Can't go wrong here. Maybe if they add on seafood chowder then it will be a home run..

Plenty of parking and really lovely staff in this pub/restaurant/lounge. I find the “African” theme a bit uncomfortable - it’s more American in menu and style. The tables are beautiful solid slices of wood but there aren’t really any comfy spots to sit - with the exception of a large corner sofa that I wouldn’t risk skin contact with. The food is okay - well prepared but the quality of the chicken was a bit disappointing. You need free range flavour for hot-stone skewers, or at least leg meat. The retro shrimp cocktail, however, was excellent. Really enjoyed it. There is a good selection of beers and ciders on tap, good prices across the board, outdoor seating and a pool table so a lot to like. BIG points for having real peace lilies! Love plants and hate plastic ones 🪴🌿 All round decent pub.

The food is excellent, giving 4 stars for the food rating because I feel they could serve a lot more wedges in the small basket provided, actually looks like a serving for a young child rather than an adult, hopefully next visit will be different as we've become locals..... other than that the staff are very friendly and create a warm atmosphere for you to enjoy your evening whilst dining there.....

Enjoyed a beautiful lunch with family today, we ordered the beef burger with fries, was delicious, the size of the burger is quite big.The chefs special was coconut Mussells with garlic bread was amaaaazing, and a Rump Steak eith mushroom sauce, salad and fries. Every meal was delicious, juicy, flavourful. We will be back. Photo of my burger only lol

What an absolutely awesome place to eat and drink. I wish there was a rugby game on I would have stayed longer. Four of us ordered Rump Sandwich, Eye fillet,Rump and Rib meals with a bowl of mussels all covered in Garlic Sauce. My daughter ordered the creme Brule, which was all amazing. We are from out west and to say this food is amazing is an understatement. Well worth it and definitely going back. Try it.

Went in on a Wednesday night and it was pretty quiet patron wise. The staff were friendly and accommodating and gave off a pretty nice vibe. Stuck around for a few hours to play pool and have some drinks. The drinks were pretty cheap, around $10 for a spirit+mixer and roughly same costing for a large pint off the tap. Pool table is $2 a game but there's also Darts in the establishment. Food was YUMMM! I only had chicken wings and fried but they were delish!!! Could smell a few of the dishes that others had ordered and it made my mouth water. This place didn't close until 3am. Really nice place, just needed the music to be a little louder 😊

All this plus a jug of juice for under $75. Great place for food although the bar looks outdated dont judge until you have tried their food. Absolutely worth your money. Staff are friendly nice vibes in here. Its our usual spot.

Customer service was friendly and accommodating. Great experience. The food was good too. We ordered a stone grill. Pricing was reasonable. That's uncommon to find in Auckland. One thing that stood out was, the meat did not stick to the stone. Which is also uncommon. That could be due to a layer of oil. On the downside, because it is sizzling, the oil will spray. (Most stone grill will have meat sticking to it) Overall, still a great experience. Highly recommend for the great service and reasonably priced menu!

Today was my Very First Experience at 123 Palm Bar. Firstly I rang to book,for Me n my Sweeties to go have Dinner. A Lovely n Most Kind Lady,by the Name of "Sheila"answered,n was Ever So Nice. We got there,n "Sheila" greeted us. She helped Me out,because there was a bit of a Hiccup,when we got there. She was Very Helpful,n Ever So Understanding. We ordered,n our Food was Sooooo Amazing!!! My Hot Plate was So Scrumptious,as was all of my Kids Plates. It totally reminded us,of Eating in America. Very Delicious,n Most Filling. I just wanted to give "Sheila" a Big Heads Up!!! Me n my Kids felt Special,being looked after by "Sheila". Shes the Best💯 Thank u for making our First Experience,So Fantastic!!!

Best eye fillet steak meals ever!!

What a hidden gem! Gosh the food and service is great. Our flat has gone here to eat twice and I've found the food they serve is awesome: reasonably priced, good portions and great taste. Despite the unassuming exterior and gaming section, the food is better than many east Auckland bar & restaurants. I would hands-down go here every night for good food if i could. Anyway, i thoroughly recommend the hot stone grill beef rump and the pork ribs. The ribs have a sort of chinese fusion taste to it - think of sweet and sour ribs.

Such a lovely place & Friendly staff - I been there with my wife. we had a perfect dine & wine. Our food was well prepared. We had a great time. Also A staff allowed us to play dart game. We definitely visiting again. Highly recommend. Thanks so much for kind hospitality :)

First time coming here and it was worth it. The food was delicious and surprisingly affordable! We ordered the rump steak grill with 1/2 mussels on the side to fill our bellies. We will come back here again for sure. Also very friendly service!

Came in after visiting the howick historical village with friends. Tried out the steak, fries and chicken. Fries were thick and crispy. Mushroom sauce was really nice. Outdoor environment was chill. Asked for a driks menu but staff said they didn't have one. If you are looking for one, go on the 123 palm bar website.

I went to this place around 6.3p p.m. on Saturday with three other people.<br/><br/>Atmosphere: 2.5/4<br/>Easy to get a carpark outside. The place is spacious. The restaurant area is next to another area in the restaurant which has poking machines.<br/><br/>Food: 3/4<br/>I had stone grilled rump steak. The meat was good, the sides were good. Only downside was the meat was marinated, the sides had too much dressing/sauce.<br/><br/>Service: 3/4<br/>Reasonable, could have been more proactive.<br/><br/>Cost: 3.5/4<br/>On the cheaper end. Money for value. The portion size is decent.

Not bad, I love the stone grill cooking for your own steaks as you can make it how you’d like. Also love how they give you more than one piece of meat. Quite bland but I guess you can season this yourself with salt & pepper as you cook it. Vege and salad sides are nice & fresh, balsamic potatoes are quite bland. Mushroom sauce that comes with the steak is great, not too creamy nor salty. <br/>However the prawn cocktail isn’t really a prawn cocktail, I don’t think it has any thousand island dressing in it. Don’t really recommend this dish.

Loved this places and food, especially the service! Will definitely be back to try other things from the menu, I ordered the chicken and my partner ordered steak, garlic sauce was such a beauty, well the whole meal was a beauty and this was for breakfast too.

We got the coupon from groupon to give it a try. Was actually surprised with their servings, it was huge compared to the other stone grill places we've been to and the meat was perfectly marinated! Definitely going back for more😁

Loved it here everytime i came here, ive had my 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st birthday here.. Love the music..  but most importantly i love the steak best ive had and will continue to come here every year, its far from my home but i will still come here for my birthdays and to go out to

This is not the most nice looking place to eat but without a doubt the staff are super friendly and accommodating, and the food was delicious! :) The pros definitely out way the cons, would recommend coming here for a nice family meal. Would come again.

Indoor was a little tired, but the outdoor area was good especially during summer. We went as a group, the food was great at its price and we enjoyed our evening there.

We went over to this place to have a few drinks and dinner. The dinner was good and tasty but the service was bad. They did not even give us water unless asked. While having dinner we thought we will have one more drink but the waiter did not even come back. I would suggest that they improve their service.

It's a good size area in side an out the service was pretty layed bk not in your face completely but good the food was the right amount of portions n meat went well with wine 🍷 or beer 🍻 out side was good to get fresh air n catch up with people's

Went there with the family. Was seated outside by a guy who immediately went outside to smoke leaving us unattended to for at least an hour. Finally after asking a lady at the bar she came out and took out order.She was lovely but the food and drinks came out together, we had a toddler with us so she was extremely hungry and now crying. Been there twice now first time was ok but I’m not going there to eat again.

First time coming here for dinner and tried their stone grill menu. We had the scotch fillet and beef with seafood. The flavors was a little bland but overall an interesting experience as we got to cook the meat on the stone ourselves therefore you can control how well done your meat are. Best hot rock steak i have tasted. Love the chill atmosphere and the staff are very helpful and pleasant. Creme brule & chicken pasta is also a must try. Good food good music good vibes

Food was below average. Drinks did not come till after the main course, only when we kept asking for it . The pizza we ordered tastes like frozen store bought pizza, pasta was horrible. Could barely even pick it up with a fork, it was that broken

On a Saturday we had dinner with 220 gm aged rump & beer-battered market fish, both with fries & salad. Quality of steak was definitely not good & didn't looked like 220 gm; fish was just OK. Lemon & white chocolate tart looked like ready-made. Menu price is lower than it appears at Zomato. (Food - 3/5; Service - 3/5; Ambience - 3/5)

Came here as mrs has bought grab one voucher. Have steak for the night, pretty average and nothing make me wanting to come back again. Ambience is all right.

The stone grill they serve here is actually really good. It tastes much better than other places I've tried. I like the outdoor sheltered area - it's cosy and gives off happy vibes, especially during the summer. I'm definitely keen to come back here in the near future.

Called in on a Saturday night and there were only one or two other tables of people. Staff were friendly and took our order quickly. Food came out within 15 minutes, it was nothing special but fine for $20-$25 pub style food. Both meals came with a greek side salad which was a nice change.

Empty venue - probably fills up later than when I was there because it has music Pool table &amp; Pokies.<br/>Empty was good for me - food arrived quickly - was tasty and value for money. <br/>Compared to what's out there for dining - this place comes up with Aces. <br/>Good friendly staff and close to home. I would travel to eat at this place. <br/>Great specials on the board - the night we were there the Special was 1kg Mussels for $12 WOW!!!!! <br/>Go there now. See for yourself.

I have been here 3 times (each using a voucher) and it has been enjoyable with each visit. Most recently we purchased the hot stone plates, one with eye fillet and the other with lamb rump. In both cases the meat was of high quality and the stones nice and hot. The food came quickly. The staff are friendly. It is a wonder this place is not busier. <br/>I would recommend if you are after a casual evening with family or friends to try Palm Bar. <br/>Keep an eye out for the vouchers to get the best value.

Being more of an "events manager" for my social club, I 've visited this restaurant rather frequently these past few weeks. Definately recommend the Hot-Rock grill where you cook meals - Steak or Fish on a chunky Hot Rock Lava stone, accompanied by a nice ice cold larger on Tap. We also sampled a wide variety of meals from their Light , Main and Burger menus and every time the experience has been memorable with the quality of Meals, Service and friendliness to match.

We had a lovely meal, there where 6 of us and we just turned up out of the blue. <br/><br/>The service was great, the hot stone thing my mate had was awesome, I had mussels and sticky ribs, my daughter and wife had fettuccine, shrimp cocktales some where else. The whole experience was awesome.<br/><br/>I would certainly go back and recommend to others as well.

Firstly the only reason I marked this restaurant "average" is it is really tired & dated inside & stinks of cigarette smoke. We sat outside which was nice in this hot weather.<br/>Retro shrimp cocktail, nice shrimps, tasty sauce & presented nicely.<br/>Stone grill fillet steak, again presentation was lovely & good quality steak. Vegetables with one steak were cooked to perfection & the salad with the other steak, well it's not very often that you are presented with a salad that has more in it than a couple of leaves & a couple of cherry tomatoes, this was a salad to end all salads.<br/>Staff were polite & attentive.

We purchased a deal voucher as we were wanting to catchup with a few mates &amp; didn't know were to go so found this deal. I had booked on Friday 6th for a table for Saturday 14th they told me there was a function on later but that time was ok. Wrote down my details &amp; asked if we were paying by vouchers.<br/><br/>Today we turned up, stood there for about 5-10mins without anyone approaching us. Went up to the counter to say we booked a table to find out the person hadn't booked us a table. The lady got the manager &amp; he said we hadn't booked &amp; basically we couldn't eat there. As you would no you would be pretty pissed off buying a voucher for somewhere you have never been before &amp; then being told you hadn't booked. I told him the exact time &amp; day I called up and asked who was working that day. <br/>He then said "I don't have time for this, your not being served there is the door" <br/>Myself working in a customer service role was gob smacked with what he just said. He said he's got loads of people to serve a function coming in soon &amp; doesn't have time to deal with this.... <br/><br/>I then walked outside to ring my friends who were coming from west Auckland to tell them they didn't book us on. <br/>The manager walks outside getting ready to have a smoke and says "I want to sort this what can I do, book you in for next week" <br/><br/>Yes certainly sir because we really want to come back here after you just screamed in our faces in front of all the people standing at the bar... Ugliest customer service I have ever experienced and will never ever go back there or recommend this place to anyone....

Went there last week to try out the new stone grill menu. <br/><br/>The food had to be cooked on stove because the stone plates weren't hot enough. <br/><br/>Even though the manager was very nice and apologized, but when the food came out, one piece of fish was raw in the middle and the steak was too hard to chew.

We decided to go to the 123 Palm Bar as we heard it had a fabulous reputation for good food and cheap meals. As we walked in we were welcomed by a lovely host called Kendall, he showed us to our seats. The environment was warm and welcoming, it is set up as a bar but the restaurant was separated with these beautifully long flower pots with fresh Lilly's. The bar also had option of dinning outside with heaters so we decided to dine outside since it was a beautiful day. The host was amazing and he made everything sound so delicious that we did not know what to pick, so every person in our family ordered something different. For Entrees we had Buffalo wings, 1kg of Mussels, Smoked Jalapenos - All to share with every mouth-full exploding in our mouths. For mains we had just about everything, but I do suggest the amazing pasta, Chicken Burger, the steak or the BBQ Ribs... The food is unbelievable but what is amazing is the prices, I think it was $16 for a main meal. Definitely coming back!!

We had lunch there today and we were extremely disappointed. My partner had the chicken salad, about 6 bite sized pieces of smoked chick breast overpowered by a very sweet mango dressing almost like a puree, it killed the taste of anything else. $16. I had the fishermans basket. sorry guys , but if your gonna deep fry it make sure you use fresh ingredients!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was packet crumbed and very dry, there was a handful of crumbed scallop, mussel, processed fishcake mix and crab meat with a dozen or so fresh cooked calamari rings which were the only edible thing in the basket. . The crumbed fish was wafer thin and dry as resembling a splinter of wood off the side of the fishing boat itself. $22. they cook fresh fish in a beer batter, fresh steamed mussels and fresh battered calamari, so they could add a couple of prawn cutlets and a good slice of lemon and there you go... Fresh fishermans basket!!!!!!!............... Luckily we had a voucher that cost us just $15 for a $35 meal. Don't know if we will return to use our other voucher??????????? The manager? said this is what our supplier gave us, ...... we think you need to change suppliers....I could have gone to a chippy for cheaper and tastier meal and not have to put up with the smell of cigarette smoke wafting in from the beer garden, mind you they did shut the door only after I asked.

Dined in at 123 Palm Bar with my mum a few weeks ago after purchasing a Grabone voucher. The food was over-priced and substandard, not to mention the use of powdered potato and cheap meat cuts passed off as more expensive advertised cuts (pork belly, to be exact). The service was equally as bad, and upon complaining to the manager we were laughed at and not given any apology for our terrible meals. <br/><br/>Over all a remarkably terrible experience.
