First time at Tirohana, the courtesy van turned up on time and the driver was friendly and helpful. Greeted at the door by Toby and Jerry, who made sure our glasses were full all night. They both knew the menu, and could recommend dishes. Absolutely stoked with the quality and taste of the food, and the fact that Tirohanas menu is mostly gluten free by default (no complaints from the gluten eater at my table). Am definitely going back, I need to taste more of the menu!!! �
The food, wine and service at Tirohana Estate is second to none! My wife and I had lunch there today and the service from maître d' Toby was unbeatable, as was the food. I ordered a pork cutlet which was to die for! We had their Harmony Pinot Noir to go with our meal and it was absolutely sublime. I cannot say enough about what a great experience it was.
Wonderful helpful staff that took the time to explain every single item on their set priced menu, no surprises coming out of the kitchen here!
Meals were great, very nicely presented and tasted wonderful. Good sized meals, let us feeling full and like we'd received value for our money.
Also loved the complimentary pick up and drop off service, allowing everybody to enjoy their fabulous wines and also get home safely.
The best bread and butter pudding to be found - mouthwatering deliciousness! Toby was an awesome host and one who made our night a memorable one...once again!
Amazing experience... the food was mouth watering good. Loved the fact they can pick up and drop u if u want. The desert was my super favorite and all three courses were good serving. They gave us a night to remember. This was dinner and the place was lit beautifully.
The Tirohana Estate , just outside the centre of Martinborough and was the only one of the many wineries that was open for dinner when we were in town on a Thursday. They even had a shuttle to pick us up from our accommodation and whisk us to the beautiful location followed by a friendly welcome from the staff.
After visiting earlier in the day for a wine tasting, we were tempted by the $59 menu and friendly welcome so booked for that evening. We were staying locally so were offered a pick up which was gratefully accepted.
The food and wine were sublime and the service exceptional. Cannot recommend highly enough and will definitely be back.

Absolutely wonderful experience, a MUST when visiting the area. Our waiter was fabulous - so funny, knowledgeable and efficient. The meals were superb and of good size. My partner and I are both from hospitality backgrounds and truly enjoyed our dining experience. We will most certainly be back!
My partner and I booked a break away over the hill as we wanted to do something extra special to celebrate the New Year and new decade. Tirohana was recommended by some friends. And we could see why! The place is stunning, the food was awesome (yummy 6 course), the service was the best I had ever had ... and the atmosphere was just so amazing with great entertainment. And all the little extra surprises and things on offer were very welcome. Wish it was located in Wellington! But we will be back and highly recommend Tirohana. A really special place and a unique dining experience.
The beautiful Tirohana Estate was the venue for a weekend birthday lunch. Nine of us were warmly greeted for wine tasting, followed by the two-course lunch menu. I opted for the cranberry and brie salad followed by lamb shanks so tender that the meat practically fell off the bone. Only a couple of our party had room for dessert after such a sumptuous meal! Our service was friendly, efficient and attentive in an idyllic setting. A thoroughly enjoyable dining experience.
I travel a lot on business. So going out for a meal is something I am inclined not to do. But with my partner being a food and wine lover, to keep the peace - I compromise! Anyway, he took me out to Tirohana last Friday for dinner on the recommendation of friends. And I was blown away. Amazed to find a restaurant of this quality in Martinborough - let alone the Wellington region - as it can honestly rival the top places I have dined in throughout the world. The ambiance, atmosphere, yummy food, first class wine and especially the service was really awesome. Great value and to see a place so unique operating in NZ. I will certainly be back and am considering booking my 50th birthday celebration. A truly special place. Well done all at Tirohana.
One of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had in New Zealand. Excellent service, including a shuttle which picked us up and dropped us off as well as welcome drinks on arrival. The food was fantastic. Great value for money. Would 100% come back.
We had a great time at the restaurant from the moment we arrived until the time we left. We were greeted with a warm welcome and Toby and his team made sure we were well looked after. We were made to feel special as a few of us celebrated our 60th birthdays on the night.
The warm hospitality coupled with good food made this a most memorable night. Despite being a busy night, food were served in good intervals so no undued delays.
The restaurant is well set up with a great atmosphere. The outlook is tranquil as we look out into rows of vines. Truly an awesome place and one to consider when celebrating your special occasions.

The service was exceptional and I could not fault the food. A wonderful evening. I could not recommend this dining experience more. We were also picked up and dropped off by the winery 🍷 from our accommodation.
Loved our whole experience from the pickup through to the drop off service. The lamb shank was perfect and the 3 cheese tart was equally lovely and paired with the wine we had a lovely dinner which we finished with a lovely glass of port. Will definitely return one day.
Outstanding. We enjoyed a lovely evening with excellent food and the friendliest service. Relaxing atmosphere, perfect for a romantic dinner. Nice extra touches from welcome drinks through to chocolate truffles to finish. The estate's wine list isn't extensive, and I'm generally not a fan of NZ Pinot Noir, but I was pleasantly surprised.
We would definitely return if staying in the area, and would considering staying here if the hospitality is at the same level!
We had a lively lunch in the sun yesterday. The fish was delicious. The lamb shank melted off the bone and we all enjoyed our deserts. Some were willing to share others weren’t. Tells you it was good.
Superb at every level. Amazing food, excellent staff, beautiful atmosphere and fine wine. Made my birthday extra special with the wait staff singing happy birthday (great voices). This restaurant came highly recommended to us and we were not disappointed. The complementary shuttle was an added bonus. Will be dreaming of this meal for weeks and scheming a return.
Amazing restaurant, outstanding food, excellent service. 3 courses for lunch and a pinot noir, this restaurant really has to be experienced to be believed. Toby the manager looked after us from the start and ensured we had a lovely afternoon. Goats cheese starter, lamb for main, & bread pudding for dessert, every dish was spot on.
