Great service, good food and nice choice of beers. We ordered the pork burger, beef pasta and onion rings. And two beers. The onion rings were average, and the pork burger was good.
I’m a pasta fan so I particularly enjoyed the pasta. Well-cooked, rich sauce and generous portions of tender beef. Highly recommended!
Just wanting to have some light food when passing by this town, we found this bar that has nice atmosphere and decided to get the pork sliders and a glass of lemon tea. Staff was friendly and the service was amazing! Despite only ordering one dish to share, they helped us to divide the food without any instructions, though I was confused at first. The taste was fabulous and the lemon tea was tasty.
Would recommend anyone to enjoy their night here 😃
Excellent service and lots of great beers on tap. The portions where not very big for some of the meals but the fries and onion rings were super yummy

We stopped here for a drink and afternoon tea. The staff were friendly and welcoming as well very efficient. We ordered a couple of sides and the portions were very generous. Interesting memorabilia on the wall celebrating Matamata's sports history.
Really delicious meals and entrée. 2 adults & 1 child. We got the specials board of deserts the cookie monster & chocolate brownie which sold out really quickly. Have been to both matamata & morrinsville bars and will definitely be back again. Was pretty busy when we came in on Friday night and all our meals & drinks were perfect. Keep up the good work team.
Excellent food with fast and friendly service! We stopped here for lunch before our Hobbiton tour and were were glad we did! Waiter recommended the Pork Belly Boa Buns and they were excellent, highly recommend them! Fun little pub near Hobbiton! Highly recommend stopping by if your in the area!
We stopped in Matamata for lunch on the drive down to Napier. We parked nearby and decided to stop here.
The menu was fairly sized and had nice options. The server was very friendly. After getting our orders we were able to admire the decor of the bar including the kayak on the roof that went to the outside area.
the food was quite nice. Tasty and well cooked. I had the Buddha bowl and that was really tasty particularly the coconut rice which actually tasted like coconut. The chowder was on the salty side though. It was quite a nice place for a fairly chill lunch before heading out again.
Restaurant uniquely added with a feel of Hobbiton. Food was absolutely delicious and the service was fantastic. You can both enjoy good food and warm atmosphere here. Food pricing is average and wont cost an arm and leg. Highly recommended restaurant when in town. Located across Matamata isite so it's relatively easy to spot.
Just wanted to say thanks to the guys at Redoubt Bar & Eatery ❤ We had the best dining experience I have ever had. Compliments to the chefs. I feel relaxed and satisfied after having a scotch fillet perfectly cooked and my sticky date pudding. No photos of the mains cause I was starving🤣🤣🤣
