Stopped by here for lunch and was left feeling full and satisfied. We ordered a pumpkin soup, single fish fillet with chips, fish burger, and a squid rings kids meal. The prices seemed too much at first but the quantity of the dishes were worth it.

Their fish was fresh and the batter was crunchy and importantly didn't turn out too thick or oily as it often does with fish and chips. I thought the burger was very well made, with several ingredients whose flavours melded together in your mouth. There was a lot of sauce which made everything creamy.

Squid rings were nicely crumbed and deep fried - not overdone so that it was hard but it was still crispy. There were only 4 and the rest were chips, so it could've done with a couple more with less chips.

The pumpkin soup was your average pumpkin soup, but hearty and comforting all the same.

Menu meals are great value and really well presented. The location is also excellent with amazing views out to see and down to Moeraki township. Well worth the visit. It also has an excellent gift shop. Overall would recommend a visit to the boulders and the restaurant.

My husband and I had a weekend in Moeraki and had lunch here. We enjoyed the friendly service as well as the food and of course the view. My husband had the seafood platter - a very large meal nicely presented with lots of different seafood while I had the Blue Cod Burger - a large burger with fresh cod, we both really enjoyed our meals and great coffee too.

Had a very nice meal here in the weekend. Although it was extremely busy with rugby world cup fans the experience was still enjoyable. Very high standard of food I had the blue cod pie which is apparently new to the menu this came with fries and salad and I thought it was very reasonable. Friendly staff. I finished with a very good latte, overlooking the Boulders. The gift shop is worth a look too. Will be sure to return again.

Love this place, such a great setting and a good selection of food on the menu. Have tried lots of dishes as they do cabinet food as well as main meals, have never been disappointed. My last visit I had the Chicken Wrap which is delish a nice combination of chicken, streaky bacon, brie cheese, spinach and aoli. They do a nice gluten free version of the chicken wrap but in a gluten free garlic pita. Although its the blue cod which is pretty hard to beat, great story on Country Calander recently about Moeraki Blue Cod being cooked at the Moeraki Boulders Cafe. Well worth a stop if you're in the area.

We often stop here on our way to north. We always have the Fresh Moeraki Blue Cod and the Seafood Chowder, both awesome!. Nice atmosphere on a sunny day to sit out on the deck and look down towards to the Boulders, or on winters days in front of the open fire. Friendly service.

Just recently visited the Moeraki Boulder Cafe, was absolutely impressed! The attention to detail in the design is remarkable. The exterior, with its domes imitating the round shape of the boulders, is a beautiful nod to the iconic Moeraki landscape. One of the standout features of the cafe is the thoughtfully designed walk to the boulders. You can choose between two routes - one that takes a quick 10 minutes and another that's a more leisurely 30-minute stroll. Both are equally rewarding and offer different perspectives of the stunning surroundings. What makes this place even more special is that it's a family-run enterprise, with the little ones also lending a hand. It's heartwarming to see a family so dedicated to providing a great experience. Now, let's talk about the food. It's not just good; it's super good! The taste and value for money are spot on. Everything is well presented on the palate, and I have to say, the chef's recommendation of the mixed seafood palette is an excellent choice. The Moeraki Boulder Cafe is not just a place to refuel; it's a part of the experience, enhancing your visit to this incredible location. Don't miss out! 🌟🍽️ #MoerakiBoulderCafe #FamilyEnterprise #ScrumptiousDelights

Great lunch spot with a surprisingly large range of menu items available. We had two blue cod fillets with salad and chips. This was already a big enough meal to share between two.

Good snack food, great whitebait patty and cheese roll. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great location and well worth a visit before or after seeing the Boulders. Bonus were the Dolphins playing right out front in the shallows.

Nice view and fantastic food and service. Although it is for sale so who know what it will be like under new owners once it sells.

First time to café. Stopped here for lunch after seeing boulders, not knowing they had access down to beach for café patrons. Great seafood chowder served with Foccacia bread and great view overlooking boulders from outdoor seating. Lots of other food choices also sounded very appetising and perfect place to stop for a coffee or more and to visit the boulders after. Just make sure to go at low tide or within a couple of hours either side so you don't miss them.
