I. Am. Amazed. I was not expecting to find an authentic, fragrant, and spicy Indonesian fried rice here in AKL. But I did. I ordered a portion of Nasi Goreng Istimewa which was priced at 24 NZD. And for that price point, you would expect something that fills your belly with happiness. As you can see, I got: • A generous portion of spicy nasi goreng (as I had requested) • A sunny side-up egg • Two chicken skewers with peanut sauce • A fried chicken drumstick • Some rice crackers, and pickled veggies. The fried rice was, if not, the best nasi goreng I've had here. And dare I say, it might be better than some nasi goreng back in Indonesia. I think they used shrimp paste (terasi) here? I did find anchovies though, and they're good. Nothing really special about the egg, other than it was so beautifully presented. The yolk melted tho, loved it. Now I am not a chicken skewers kind of person back in Indo, but these are some good ones. The meat was tender and the peanut sauce was just right, not too sweet, not too spicy, still tasty. The drumstick might be a weakness here since they opted for a kentucky-ish fried chicken instead of an Indonesian traditional fried chicken. The batter/skin definitely had some seasonings in it, but I personally don't think it blends that well with the traditional flavors of the others. Simply put, the fried chicken made me realise that I was still in NZ, lol. But alas, that was an amazing combo of nasi goreng. Very very highly recommended 👍

Cozy small restaurant with delicious indonesian foods, drinks, and dessert. Price is also reasonable. They are generous on the sambal and the spicy level is up there, which is nice!

Tiny little place on Dominion. This place is not about fancy deco but all about yummy food. Portions were generous. We had grilled beef rib with mango sambal and grilled chicken thigh. Both were super tasty. Meat were tender and flavourful. For today's mid inflation standard, I feel that you are getting a lot of food for what you pay. The sambal is quite mild, I think tuned for kiwi palate. If you like spicy food you gotta ask chef to take it up a notch.

Great new find in Auckland as I love Indonesian food. I think it would take a few trips to find the best dish to order. Ayam Bakar Bumbu Rujak was quite good but the Iga Bakur Sambal Mangga was a bit disappointing as it was dry and lacked a kick to it.

Yummy Indonesian food - in the pics are: mie ayam (chicken noodle -indonesian street style), es campur ( shaved ice dessert) and nasi Kapau ( Authentic rice dishes from Padang with rendang and curry). Good indonesian hospitality & good ambience. Highly recommend to try this place for Authentic Indonesian Food.

This place is the real deal. They don’t always serve the best known Indonesian dishes but go for a more interesting selection of mostly Javanese and Sumatran cuisines, done authentically with high quality ingredients. They also don’t warn you about how spicy it might be, so if you’re not into having your face melted, it’s your job to ask. The staff are friendly, fast, and helpful. We ordered more food than the two of us could eat and our total was $68. The ribs with peanut mango sauce are fantastic.
