Recommended by a friend, we were not disappointed. This a real trip back in time. The deco is associated with the Charlie Chaplin era, the host is charming and the food fabulous. We went early as we had not booked so benefited from the early bird menu. My seafood chowder was tasty and the steak so soft I think I could have cut it with a butter knife. Tucked away upstairs above shops at 80A Upper Emerson Street you may easily walk past it...
Had the early bird special, great value for money. The lady handled front of house by herself very well and I'm guessing it was her husband cooking the meals which didn't take long either. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and the salad had a tasty vinaigrette.
Beautiful food. Flavourful lamb. Oscar lamb speciality is good. Tiramisu desert was interesting. Overall you get what you pay for. Wait time can be long though

Lovely dinner with friends, we ordered a few dishes to share around and they were all super yummy! This is my second time eating here, last time was a few years back, standard of food and services haven't changed. Really happy.
Really enjoyed this place, the menu is good, we got a good deal for two courses before 7:30pm so that price was brilliant.. the normal menu price was pretty standard, not cheap but not expensive.. the service was good, the starter took a little while I guess but other than that was a great meal
This place was absolutely fantastic and the highlight of my napier trip. The chef is extremely talented, his lamb signature dish is something out of this world. Would rate higher than 5 stars if I could!
