What a place, very visually appealing and the view over the ocean was great. The service was good & friendly but didn't know the menu well, couldn't answer some basic questions on dishes. The food was delicious however the price compared to the size, not good. 2 pieces of smoked salmon in the poke bowl and $45 for a basic gurnard, disappointed.
We came.here for a staff due and sooo amazing. The view is absolutely breathtaking, the smoke area is nice and spacious and the restaurant is beautiful. There is a large lawn area aswell as a playground so it is definately suitable for children and also functions. The food was just delicious. I was full off my pork belly and desert WOW! I think the price is alot for a standard family but definitely worth it if you went in as a couple xxx
We had such a nice night. The fire was going and it was really nice and warm, perfect temp. We got the paua ravioli entree, this came out super fast and was delicious. Then We had the lamb rump and the pork belly. Everything was perfection. The view out to the ocean was relaxing and just such a nice chilled atmosphere. We ended the night with the chocolate brownie. 🍫 The service was great.
Incredible venue with food that both satisfies any cravings and exceeds any expectations. Best food we've had in NZ, hands down. The preparation, presentation and balance of flavors in every dish we had was impeccable. This is a must stop if you can!

Breathtaking views, staff were friendly and the service was great.
I had the king prawns to start followed by the confit of duck and the crème brûlée.
Each course was delicious and wonderfully presented.
Highly recommend and will be heading back to try other courses

Enjoyed the time here... The staff was really friendly and great to communicate with...the wine I had was amazing...I'd definitely go back for the wine(😩😌) As for the food, I might sound picky but I do enjoy food(bit of a food connoisseur) and definitely will give an honest review on that...The king prawns were amazing....I was looking forward for the mains... The beef cheeks and the veggies were underseasoned... Maybe add a bit more jus as the whole dish was dry and the veggies didn't have any sauce to go with... I think roasting the veggies will change the whole dish to another level. Steamed/boiled veggies just didn't go very well with the meat...the potatoes on the other hand was just amazing(chef's kiss)... Perfectly cooked and complimented the meat very well...some parts of the meat was a bit overcooked... would have taken the dish to the next level with a little bit of seasoning and sauce...for the price I paid, it was quite underwhelming... would definitely come back to see if the chefs stepped their game up. Hope y'all take this extensive review as a positive opportunity to improve ❤️
Visited during its afternoon closing hour. Majestic view awaits its customers, chalet renters, function guests. A few hills in the property presents a beautiful & delightful scenery. Road is a bit narrow & “crawl” @ bends as they are blind spots. Have a cup of coffee & enjoyable breeze wind & soothing sounds of waves
The food is delicious.
There is a great view of the mountains from the parking lot and some of the tables, most of the tables have a great view of the picturesque blue sea and the countryside. They have lots of fancy foods as well as a kids menu. The food is very expensive but it's also very good.
The restaurant is nice and clean and the staff seem to enjoy their job.
Absolutely magic place. The food, the wine and the place is very special indeed. We’ll be back for sure....Back again. Bravo to the staff and chef. Still a great venue.
