I had an egg burger, a battered sausage & a potato fritter.
The burger was ok... Not the best that I've ever had but certainly better than another local establishment that I tried. The fritter was also ok but for the price, I'd expected a bit more to it.
The battered sausage was the standout. Decent size & well executed, id certainly have that again... Although the price was slightly high.
In a small township like Ohakune, one can't expect a wide variety of food choices (esp in the off season) so options are limited. Were I spending longer here, this would probably be my go-to... Although it would take a bit of experimentation to work out the best choices from the menu.
Customer service was awesome, food was absolutely amazing - chips were cooked to perfection, tasted delicious & crispy and our GF beef burger was great as well.
Will 100% visit again - thanks for the sustenance.
Long distance hiker who got dinner here after a week on the trail. After browsing the other takeaway restaurants and talking to the locals I found this place was the best option. And as I travel on a budget, I'm always looking for a good deal.
I ordered 2 fish and a scoop of chips. When collecting the order the pretty young girl who served me said "sorry, we made a extra fish. so we threw it in with your order."
Fish and chips was excellent even without the free piece. Very good indeed.
My fiance and I stayed near ohakune, and we went here several times during our week long stay. The food was great, and very friendly to your wallet. It's nothing fancy, but they give you lots of food, and it tasted lovely with a few beers. Hopefully we get to come back someday, and try some more of their food.
Pretty decent place to grab a bite. Better than I thought it would be. Huge portions of hot chips!
They have combos available and that's a crazy good amount for food we got for just the $10.00 combos. Taste is good, staff is friendly.

On a whim I decided to try our new chip shop. The fish batter was beautiful, thin and crispy ,fish was delicious and my chips were perfection!!!
