Yummy food and friendly service!
Cant wait to go back for more :)
Their pho and spring rolls are better than any other places ive been to. ( try it out, hansan, otahuhu cafe).
The pork vermicelli was amazing also! The pork was moist and had that char grilled flavour :) i think it could have been perfect if there was more seasoning to it but thats just me :)
Awesome awesome place!
Authentic Vietnamese cuisine tucked away in One Tree Hill. This little cafe is lovely in decoration and packed with flavours. Owners and staff are super friendly. The best bowl of Pho Bo (Vietnamese beef noodles soup) I've had in Auckland, very authentic. Summer rolls are quite different from other Vietnamese restaurants, instead of noodles and lettuce they only make it with prawns and vege, which is just as tasty and refreshing. The fried chicken (marinated in fish sauce) is Vietnamese home food at its best. We ordered 2 bowls of Pho, fried chicken, summer rolls and banh mi (Vietnamese baguette) and paid 55$, super reasonable. Apparently Viki is a local favourite so definitely check them out 😉
I had grilled marinated pork vermacelli. Straight out of Hanoi. These are the sort of operators who, starting in street-side Onehunga, should end up in the Viaduct Harbour making millions.
Viki Cafe is a hidden gem. The food is top notch, authentic, healthy and flavor packed. The service is friendly and welcoming. They are always consistent, and are our go-to for a quick healthy meal on any day of the week
Really good fresh juicy tasty genuine Vietnamese food. Not cheap for a takeaway however good price compared to average resturant. Coffee is ok too. Outside sitting area availiable if you have a furry friend.
The food was amazing, we ordered a beef pho and duck fillet on vermicelli. The pho soup has very rich flavour and the rare beef has also soaked up the soup flavour. The duck fillet is so tendered and beautifully charred and flavourful. Staffs are very friendly and attentive. Definitely recommends for any occasions when you feel like some amazing Vietnamese food.
We went there for our date night, first the concept is nice, cute place with jazzy style of music, overall ambiance is great although place kinda small.
Ok now we get to the food :
- my chicken lemon grass doesnt taste like lemon grass chicken. It was more like chicken teriyaki with a hint of lemon grass
- my husband pho, taste very cinnamony too strong, but meat very soft and tender which is very good. Too bad they should serve with the famous tamarind sauce and just chopped chilly eventhough I do like the chilly in vinegar almost like indonesian Asinan sauce
- my dessert Lemon and Passion Fruit slices does not taste like lemon or passion fruit.
- my husband's macadamia and caramel slice was good though
Well it was our first trial and husband said he will give a second chance. I will try other stuff too but not the pho not until they minimize the cinnamon flavor
Cheers
Recommend the pho, with surprising taste of cinnamon. Spring rolls with creative use of pineapple. Desserts and coffee are great too! Excellent family atmosphere, with pillows, blankets, Vietnamese tourist kitsch on the walls, and welcoming jazz music. Dzn
Cute, cosy, family-style business. Generous portions of delicious food, popular with locals. The fried fish with tomato sauce is delicious but also can’t go past the lemongrass chicken or the grilled duck - have never had a bad me here. Caters well for those with dietary restrictions but just make sure you tell the staff about any dietary requirements as some of the items labelled as gluten free on the menu are actually gluten free on request. The staff are really friendly and accommodating. The free jasmine tea in winter is a lovely touch.
We ordered the chicken skewers, beef pho and the spring rolls. Pho (the broth) lacks favour and was a little oily. The spring rolls were bland to my taste.
I personally admire how dedicated the owners are and hope that the food will improve so we can continue to support this local business run by the lovely couple.
I love this joint. It's our go to when we just want a casual dinner but know the quality of the food will be spot on.
It's certainly a "more than meets the eye" eatery and the food is so delicious: fresh and tasty.
They have the friendliest staff and the cafe vibe is warm and welcoming. You need to get down here and visit Vietnam 😃
It's great food (we are even making and eating more Vietnamese food at home now), affordable, and a nice little indoor - outdoor venue.
Staff (I think all part of a family) are amazingly friendly, and continuously offer to help or do more.
What a great place for brunch or afternoon coffee.
We've had many a meals both dine in & takeaway at Viki Cafe. The owners are lovely and friendly with genuine love & gratitude for both the food they produce and their customers! Our food has always been delicious & the atmosphere cosy & welcoming.
This is a jewel hiding in Onehunga. Exceptional service and really good food.
This is actually the best Vietnamese food I have had in Auckland. I had the beef pho and spring rolls and it was delicious, I have been to five other Vietnamese restaurants here in Auckland and this is the best in service, food, cleanliness
Cute, cosy, family-style business. Generous portions of delicious food, popular with locals. Caters well for those with dietary restrictions. The free jasmine tea is a lovely touch.
A favorite quick eat in Onehunga. Authentic flavors (ok its toned down for NZ tastes), quick, reasonable prices, and friendly service.
The Pho are great!
