Have been here for a wedding and sat outside for a more casual meal. There’s not too much sharing styled food for the outdoors which is a shame.
Loved the more formal sharing meals however, they were Devine. LOVED the fresh bread and olive oil. And the beef was melt in your mouth.
Just need a bit more casual sharing food for the summer time outdoor casual dining. Otherwise perfect
It was our first time dining here but it certainly will not be our last. We tried a lot of their dishes and also a bottle of the rosé. The whole experience was perfect. It’s got beautiful views, food and service!
There is the option to sit by a beautiful fire place inside if it’s cold or sit outside overlooking he vineyard on a nice sunny day.
The beef was my favourite dish. I would surely have that again. My brother also ordered the dark chocolate fondant again as it was just that delicious!
Would surely recommend Archive Bar & Bistro when in Waiheke.
Wow!! Breakfast and a view A+++ This would have to be my favourite restaurant. The food tasted great, portions were good and the price was very reasonable for the location. I had the granola which was very delicious and refreshing and my partner had the eggs bene which he throughly enjoyed. Will definitely be back in the future.
Incredibly beautiful setting with the most amazing views. Super friendly service, gorgeous food and great wine. The slow cooked lamb was delicious!!

Had lovely lavender cocktails whilst watching the sunset late summer.
Absolute incredible location. You watch the sun set over Auckland, the sky tower in all its glory. Amazing.
The view is breathtaking even before reaching Mudbrick. We decided to have lunch here after being recommended by our hotel receptionist. It was meant to be a quick and light meal, but we got carried away by the inviting menu. The oysters were fresh and the balance of flavors in each dish was very good. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the tarragon salsa verde, I found it too nutty and didnt really like the texture or the taste. The crunchy mustard potato was the best thing I've ever eaten. It is a must!!! The service was good. Would definitely recommend.
We dined here for a special celebration over the weekend just been.
I'd like to start off with mentioning just how amazing the service and staff were.
There was one waiter in particular who came on at about 2pm. A young french man if I recall, who knew all about the menu and wines to recommend with each dish. Ensuring we were fine throughout the afternoon. His service in particular was outstanding. Thank you.
The food ofcourse was amazing. All 13 of us were very impressed with the wonderful presentation of each meal and of course our table was silent for a good 20 minutes while each of us took our taste buds on a delicious journey.
I had the Te Matuku oysters which were creamy and full of flavour. Natural ofcourse, accompanied with the shallot vinegar and lemon. Simple and clean presentation.
The squid ink risotto was a new experience, yet one I throughly enjoyed and would recommend. Dont let the black ink put you off this interesting dish as it really oozed a lovely delicate flavour and the octopus, was great.
We had such a great day here celebrating a friends birthday.
The team we're attentive, friendly and fun. The food was served timely and presented immaculately.
I had the Boullabaise which was delicious. The seafood was super fresh and the tomato broth was divine. My only problem was I wanted more!!
We smacked on breads and dips throughout the day and ended up having espresso martinis.
Totally awesome day would thoroughly recommend!!
Beautiful place! I loved their wine, the view and most especially the meat platter :) It is a good sharing for two people but I ate the most of it. Lol it was too good. I highly recommend to do a wine tasting here.
Heaven on a stick. A perfect day out from Auckland: sunshine, sea, wine, friends and views of the city on the horizon. The original Mudbrick Cafe was originally designed by Richard Lambourne, Architect as a live-in barn and starter vineyard for the owners who, in their 30's decided a vineyard would be fun. It was obviously a labour of love that eventually paid off in this beautiful resort property. For a gardener, the layout itself is a thrill and for foodies the menu is divine. I take my visiting overseas guests on their first day upright after a long flight. You glide past islands on the way and smell the lavenders while sipping champagne. We watched a wedding party arrive at the main restaurant as the florist assembled a lovely arch of roses and native greenery. The Archive Bistro is relatively new: a cool glamping style canopy with views from every aspect. TIP: Book a return taxi ($15 one way) in advance or grab one from arrivals. The experience is worth every cent. Lovingly prepared ribeye for my friend and handmade vegetarian gnocchi for me. An amazing blend of sun, fresh air, wonderful food and first class service in laid back kiwi style.
Beautiful view of the Mudbrick vineyard. If you do not have a car, it is a 30 minute walk to the ferry or a five minute cab ride. The restaurant offers cab options and will call the cab company for you which is great for international visitors.
We had lunch for our anniversary here, the service was friendly and attentive but never pushy. We enjoyed watching the weather changing over the amazing vistas while enjoying a delicious meal. Highly recommend.
Stunning environment with good food. A 4 hour lunch with a group of 33 family and friends was just the right length of time.
Excellent from phone reservation, to being seated outside to enjoy the sunset. Absolutely wonderful service for my solo dinner experience. Servers knew ingredients in dishes when asked or checked and got back to me quickly and with relayed the info with enthusiasm. Very attentive.
Ceviche-delicious, local fish main course done in a Tom yum broth-excellent,and beautifully presented. Chocolate torte for dessert with divine accompaniments.
Mudbrick is absolutely superb. I’ve had lunch and dinner at the Restaurant before (which was amazing!) but this was my first time visiting the Bistro side for dinner - it was exquisite. The food and drinks were 10/10 (such rich flavours) and the service impeccable. We were really made to feel special. The ambience and surroundings are something that no other vineyard or restaurant has ever been able to top for me - it’s beautifully presented and cosy indoors with stunning views outside. Thank you, we’ll absolutely be back again!
Beautiful place and food, tried my luck as a walk in and was lucky to get a seat, while we waited we took some lovely photos. Super dog friendly, it was windy outside so we were allowed to bring our dog inside. Thank you.
Arrived at 4pm, but we should have come earlier to enjoy the sunshine & stunning view! What a wonderful place to spend an afternoon. Had an early dinner booking, but as it was still not too cold we sat outside with light lanterns going & enjoyed the spectacular Auckland city night lights. The food was delish, the atmosphere was great. It was a special time. Recommend to anyone. Not cheap but well worth the experience!
The squid and prawns we delish the steak meal was excellent and also the pasta and desserts was a lil disappointed on the cost of oysters for the size of them could of been bigger not tiny, need to make the oysters bigger for that price. mojito was great as well plus the scenery
The bartender is very kind
Better to ask him instead wine tasting.
No table available without booking.
It's a great place to have a fantastic lunch with breathtaking views over the island, vineyards and Auckland skyline. The wine is great as well. Staff is very friendly and they also were able to make sure that out little one would get his dish as a matter of priority. It's not cheap but uts well worth the experience!
