Exceptional service, felt well looked after and the wine was to die for. Grabbed myself a bottle of '17 Ombra which tasted amazing. 10/10 recommend and would come again. Thanks!
Whakamīharo te wairua! Such a joy! It’s is hard to put into words the beauty of the experience we had at lunch yesterday celebrating my dads 85th birthday. The long lunch menu is full some and delicious. The vineyards own rose bubbles and Pino Grigio were the perfect accompaniment. The sun shone the gardens were lush. I was hard to drag ourselves away to be honest. Will be back!
Really enjoyed the authenticity of the food and of course the estate itself. Got the beef carpaccio, lam shank and the gnocchi. Gnocchi texture was perfect - soft and doughy. The lamb was fragrant with herbs cooked in between. Even for people who don't enjoy lamb, they'll enjoy this. Carpaccio was decent too. Service is also good. Expected for a nice restaurant like this.
Situated on Waiheke Island, about a 25 minute drive from Kennedy Point Wharf, you will find Poderi Crisci, a vineyard and Italian restaurant owned and run by Antonio Crisci and his family. Surrounded by rolling hills and immaculate gardens, together with a stunning setting including an Italian style kitchen, displays of Italian cheeses and cured meats, and copper pots and utensils, you will feel like you are in Tuscany.
The famed Poderi Crisci eventually drew us into its clutches. We decided to sample this Tuscan delight sans kinder, and booked a table in advance. Even though they were fully booked, they managed to squeeze us in, thanks!! The setting is beautiful, quite similar to the Tuscan style setting of Casita Miro. The waiters are excellently Italian, brusque with a touch of irreverence. They were a bit put out when we declined their suggestion of a prosecco aperitif :-) Anyway, we ate à la carte, and I ordered the crispy skin salmon, which was succulent and beautifully presented. Overall this restaurant is one of the highlights of the island and am definitely keen to come back for one of their long lunches....
My wife and I, my son and his wife and three young children visited this delightful unusual restaurant set in the most beautiful vineyard and garden. The occasion was News Years Day so we were there to experience their ‘long lunch’. This is where you simply relax and receive whatever food has been prepared with the most perfectly paired wine from their cellar. We all had the most wonderful time. I imagined I was somewhere in Italy...sorry to leave actually. The service, food and wine was absolutely tops.
Spent the night on the island and looking to tick off another Auckland degustation so we came here. This is their degustation menu they serve on the weekends or nights, sorry I can't remember. We washed it down with their house rosé, pinot gris, lemoncello and a grappa.
Everything was pretty good, a lot of long waits though in between courses. Not bad but it didn't blow us away or anything. Service is excellent as well as the ambience.
This is the Italian Tuscany of Waiheke Island, your perfect place to relax and enjoy Italian inspired food and a refreshing cold Peroni. Salute!
It was a wet day but certainly it was worth a visit down the long dirt road where we had lunch. Nice wine good food and excellent service. A great place to spend a few hours.
We came here for a special occasion and the long lunch was certainly special. From the booking process all the way through the service was delightful - personable, efficient, professional but relaxed and friendly. It's not the easiest (or cheapest) place to get to but once you're there it feels a world away from Auckland and the typical Waiheke vineyards vibe. You could almost believe you were in Italy. My partner is dairy free so as a result we don't eat much Italian but they handled it without any drama or fuss, always a huge relief especially with a preset menu. Personally I'm not the biggest fan of Italian food but this was wonderful - light, fresh and delicious. The lunch didn't last as long as we expected (it was also on a Saturday due to demand so perhaps that is why), finishing at about 2.30pm almost 2 hours earlier than they advise on the website, however we didn't feel rushed at any point. I would happily go back, in fact we're thinking about making a family tradition of it.
I did not appreciate how far the taxi ride from Oneroa to PC was (a $70 cab ride!!), then out of the darkness along the dirt road the lights of the farmhouse appear around a corner. Poderi has the feel of dining in a Tuscan farmhouse kitchen, the roaring fire, the friendly personal service, but the food was delicious combining a rustic simplicity with fine dining touches. The degustation menu was well balanced, easy paced and very satisfying. The staff even organised our taxi back to town afterwards. I highly recommend eating here, it is a tiny piece of Italy less than an hour from Auckland city
I can't afford to go to Italy now, but you can afford the next best thing. Go to Poderi Crisci in Waiheke. This place will make you feel you are literally in Tuscany in the heart of Italy. The food, the wines, the whole vibe and the venue are the closest you can get to a Luxury Agriturismo in Italy. Highly recommended, believe me... totally worth the ferry and the taxi to Poderi Crisci.
We traveled from Auckland on the ferry to Waiheke Island to have Sunday long table lunch at Poderi Crisci. Authentic Italian food is served to the table to share and plenty of it. The restaurant made us feel like we were somewhere in Italy, the food was a delicious feast. Allow at least 5 hours.
Recommend you drive as all taxi services are not available for pick up after 5pm unless you have pre booked.
We had a 5 course degustation booked. A warm and lovely welcome, their grounds are peaceful and serene. Really encourages you to relax. The waiter assigned to us was nice.
We had an initial confusion as we had some dietary restrictions which they didn't listen to fully. Had a pescitarian, 2 that didn't eat beef, and I that didn't eat pork. But got there in the end. Had our request for wine pairing disappear so we lost 1 pairing. The food was nice but we noticed the portion sizes weren't all the same, some of us definitely got more than others.
The wines paired were delicious, the food was great. I'd be interested to see what their long lunches are like but perhaps a future trip.
We would like to thank James and the team at Poderi Crisci. We had dinner with their set menu. The food was fantastic and the evening was really special with great service and even a tour of the winery. Would highly recommend and will come back if visiting the island again. All their wines were beautiful so I will definitely be ordering some for home!
An idyllic, Italian inspired vineyard and restaurant with wonderful wine tastings, great food and a fantastic atmosphere. The service was top-notch and we enjoyed getting slightly tipsy over the course of our wine tasting. Wine tastings are free if you purchase a bottle afterwards.
Absolutely fantastic place! Such a stunning venue and amazing staff. We were well taken care of as soon as we arrived (over an hour before they even opened) by James and his capable and friendly crew!
Their wine was fantastic accompaniment to our long lunch, which we thoroughly enjoyed and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone! Turn up, sit down, enjoy the ambiance and let the restaurant take care of the rest. It doesn't get any better than that!
Thank you James and team, we had an amazing time and will definitely be returning.
Enjoyed a spectacular anniversary dinner last night. The degustation menu was excellent and was made even better by the fantastic service we received. The wine menu is perfectly chosen for the food and the surroundings are perfect. It's well worth the drive out of the main town area and we were both so pleased with everything about the night
When lunch isn't a rush and total enjoyment is the goal... Then this is the place. Delicious, flavoursome fare, presented perfectly, with accompanied wines.. No rush, the hours pass without concern as each course is consumed with delight and satisfaction. A perfect lunch in a perfect location.
We had heard many great things about this restaurant so expectations were very high. Unfortunately for us, it did not deliver to merit a 5/5 rating.
THE SETTING
The restaurant has a rustic / quaint Italian feel and is set in an undeniably gorgeous backdrop. The guests were seated along a row of out-facing benches so that the sunset could be enjoyed.
THE FOOD
We were there for a degustation dinner. The food was beautifully presented and featured a typical medley of Italian food which did not 'wow' us. The steak course was chewy and Amaretto (or a similar tasting liqueur) was used on one of the main courses and heavily in the dessert. Neither of us happen to be a fan of this liqueur so this does not reflect back on the restaurant. Its just personal taste.
THE SERVICE
The service was professional and efficient, not overly warm or welcoming.
The Maitre d' proceeded to introduce himself to guests with a handshake which included my husband, who I was sitting next to, and he COMPLETELY ignored me. Not even any eye contact. It was incredibly rude and this continued throughout the evening leaving me irate!
GETTING THERE
A TAXI ride is around NZD80-90 EACH WAY. So it certainly adds to make up an expensive experience.
I think the lunch would be better and maybe more relaxed but with our experience we wouldn't go back.
Delicious Food, Attentive Service and Beautiful Location. The gnocchi was the best I have ever had, so light and fluffy. The steak was the perfect size and the sides it came with were delicious. Such a nice vibe when sitting outside.

Very scenic location. Pretty good food, but definitely on the overpriced side, so choose carefully. I would advise to come here and get the bread (pane) and the plate of charcuterie, plus some red wine which is the specialty (the charcuterie pairs well with the red).
The tasting menu is basically a combination of a la carte items with no clear price benefit.
