So lucky we found this hidden gem! Beautiful food with free range meat! Amazing service and atmosphere. Can’t wait to come back for dinner and again for our function later this month.
We have a new favourite restaurant in Orewa Beach called ‘Someplace Else’. My son loved their lamb chops so much! If you happen to be in Orewa, why don’t you give them a try. Their food is so good!

I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant, and I must say, their charcoal chicken is absolutely exceptional! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the tone for a delightful dining experience.
The charcoal chicken itself is a true masterpiece. It's cooked to perfection, with a beautiful smoky flavor that's simply irresistible. Each bite is tender, juicy, and bursting with deliciousness. The sides that accompanied the charcoal chicken were equally impressive.

Food is always delicious, greeted with a smile, great drinks selection, freshly revamped menu, my favourites still remain! I’ve always intended to take photos, but I end up eating it too quickly. The garlic bread with house made hummus, so simple but so good. Steak is consistently cooked to perfection. So many worthy dishes, need a mention, the flavour balance is so good. These guys deserve to flourish, after the constant road works they were hit with. The food and the quality of the service is always so pleasant and I’m definitely a repeat customer because of it
We were really impressed with the food. The garlic bread starter with homemade hummus is absolutely delicious with a charcoal flavour, the chicken breast main was juicy and the fish was also pretty good. Generous portions and really well-priced. Service was friendly and quite prompt.
We are regulars at Someplace Else (at least twice a month if not more) and the food NEVER disappoints. Such consistently amazing food and love the new additions to the menu. Can’t wait to try them all out - although can’t seem to go past the Calamari and the Grilled prawns every single time.
Can highly recommend this establishment. Nav and his team are amazing. Try it, you won’t be disappointed.
1st time in this hidden little gem, awesome atmosphere chatting with the locals looking out at the beach. Food was great, we had the Market Fish, and it had great portions, and was reasonably priced. If we weren't heading back to Texas, we'd be back to try the Ribs which appeared to be the most popular choice. The only reason I didn't go full 5 stars is because we wanted vegies with one of the meals, and we weren't able to substitute.
Absolute Devine, great service all round from young male waiter & manager with opening doors, making sure everything was fine with food etc, & the food was so delicious we will definitely return & recommend to others. Nice music tracks too that helped create a relaxed ambience while being “real” music. Good to have a view of the water & we just really enjoyed this place all round.
