Love these folks. So friendly and the Havana coffee is the best in the village. They have very yummy scones and pies and do a good cooked brekkie. Amazing asset in our little village.
I find the service is great, the coffee is great, sometimes the cooked food isn't amazing. I've had a few breakfasts here that I can't remember a good one
Relaxed and kid friendly cafe. Was in for a quick bite and nachoes did the trick though I felt it was a small portion for the price. Coffee was good as was the muffin I saved for the train journey home.
This is a regular brunch spot for us when we want to escape to the Coast. The food is consistently good (the eggs Montreal and French toast being favourites) and the coffee is great. The staff are always friendly and service always prompt even though it is invariably busy when we go up there.
The Perching Parrot makes me wish I lived in Paekakariki so I could say it was my local.
Awesome coffee and service. Food looks awesome and funky chilled atmosphere....thought it couldn't get much better but hottest team on the coast too! You guys rock!
The review people said I had to say more to give 5 stars so i'll also say how choice it is that there are batman comics to check out too. It's like heaven......although a bat mobile in site would probably top the comics! Oh, and as well as awesome coffee, choice service, good looking barista they top it off with tea total tea. My favorite tea ever. Always perfect for the days when my kidneys beg me to step away from tbe coffee! Awesome place guys. Definitely my new regular.....lucky you!

The Bacon and Sausages super (and I really do not like fatty bangers).
I made a request to change a item on the list (fussy demanding Customer that I am) and it was done cheerfully, they even offered me more of another item which I was rapt by !

On Sunday last, my wife and I stopped off for brunch, on our way back to Wellington after a couple of lovely nights at Otaki Beach.
I'd said I fancied a really tasty salad to eat and actually went first into the Deli, as we had parked directly outside it. However, their selection seemed quite limited, especially for Sue who's a non-fussy vegetarian.
We popped into the Cafe and were made to feel instantly welcome; menu and water on our table within seconds of a warm greeting!
Whilst looking at the choice we ordered coffees, which turned up very quickly and were of a strength and taste we both like.
There is a wide choice of dishes to choose from and we were both delighted to see an excellent vegetarian selection, including some home made items too..like their own baked beans.
Sue went for the Big Veggie Breakfast, which thankfully wasn't too big but really superb.
As salad was on my mind I opted for the smoked chicken salad, as opposed to the smoked salmon (next time!) and it turned up looking and smelling great. Within the salad, apart from smoked chicken slices and a pleasant selection of green leaves, was capsicum, tomato and grilled halloumi...all tossed in a light dressing.
It was, without a doubt, the nicest salad I've eaten out or prepared at home and Sue loved her veggie brekkie too.
Service was attentive, friendly and speedy but with no sense of being hurried as the tables were rapidly filling up.
A great find and highly recommended.

I accidentally fell asleep on the train, was suppose to met my sister in porirua after a long flight. And then I found this beautiful Cafe it was absolutely amazing incredible food and staff were an absolute bliss. One my most favourite cafes I have ever come across will be back โค thank you!!!! A God was your hot chocolate to die for!!!
You gotta love Paekakariki & it's genuinely eclectic village feel! Well worth a visit just to take it all in & be a welcome part of it. Smiling faces, easy banter, friendly staff & patrons both, and, my favourite, dogs to pat! Outside on leashes that is. $6:90 for a large(ish) soy latte (with a sweetner please!) This little gem of a cafe is such an awesome place to grab a coffee and kai.The coffee was the best I have had for ages..hot,sweet and full of goodness..big ups to the young lady who made it.The food we had...oml..toastie heaven and magical macaroni..so good we took extra home.Thanks to the staff..made my day..give this place a try...you wont be disappointed...going back again for sure
Lovely little place with great food. I believe the menu is all vegetarian now but speaking as an omnivore the food is top notch. Super nice friendly staff and owner.
