This restaurant consistently shows what quality and service is about. From the mouth watering food, to the atmosphere and let's not forget the service. Service is the one thing lost in the 'service' industry these days, but the staff at Monteith's will show you what traditional service is about. I can't recommend this place enough. Always a joy.

Fabulous meals, perfectly cooked and presented. There were 14 of us and we all had wonderful meals couldnt have ask for more. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this restaurant.

We've been here for drinks before, but never dinner. Last night was our first experience and, based on that, we will definitely be back! The service was outstanding, the food was amazing (and we were delighted to discover kids eat free on Mondays and Tuesdays too!) and we had a thoroughly enjoyable time.
We had an excellent meal there last night. My daughter ordered the scallops , She noted she was allergic to Raw carrots and oranges and happy to skip the salad that came with it, if this made it difficult. The waiter said we will make a new salad from scratch, is no problem. She said it was wonderful some places make a real issue
I had the roast venison shanks which was gorgeous , the sauce was fab you.
My husband had the Farmers platter, he could not eat it all, beautiful beef and yourshire puddings, pork belly bites were delish and sirloin steak and bacon. Definitely going back
Great food, really enjoyed the spicy food.
Awesome local pub where the owner knows you by name. The only downside was that the fish was a little oily, but we did visit early on in the day so I'm sure it would have been better once the kitchen was pumping. I'll definitely be back next time I'm back in Rangiora
