Great food and service! Came here with my wife and a friend on our road trip around the North Island. We got a meat pie, two quiches, and some coffee. All of us agreed that the food was some of the best we’ve had in New Zealand! The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The space itself is a little small, so there isn’t much room to hang out and enjoy your coffee. That being said, I assume for people walking around Rotorua or commuting to work it would be a great place to stop.

Early Bird is the perfect little coffee shop. I'm visiting from the US and have tried a different coffee shop in Rotorua every day I've been here. Early Bird is by far the best I've found. The coffee is delicious, the food is so yummy but, most importantly, the staff are wonderful. I think it says a lot about an establishment when the staff knows everyone who comes in and seems to have a following of loyal patrons - which is well deserved!

Opens early at 630am. Friendly atmosphere. The owner remembered my previous order to use Soy milk for my room mate. And I've enjoyed their cappuccino and cinnamon scrolls.
There's this beautiful mural painting outside the cafe and I was appreciating it while waiting for my coffee. We drove to the Lake to enjoy the coffee. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in Rotorua.

Was in Rotorua for work so really appreciate a cafe that opens as absurdly early as I am. Food and coffee both very good. Can definitely recommend.
