We have been getting takeaway from here for many years but last night was the first time we have actually sat in the restaurant for a meal. We have always loved the food but it was just next level when eating in, the food was beyond divine. We were there for my sister's birthday and the chef had made her a something for desert, we were so full after eating more than our fair share of food that we had to decline and they were so lovely about it. We asked them to give it to one of the kids in the restaurant, I would recommend Lotus Thai to anyone. Thank you so much for the most amazing meal

This was a lovely place to have a Thai meal. We have had a lot of Thai meals in the UK but this is one of the best we have had. Spring Rolls were crisp and light. Prawn on toast was lovely and moist with lots of prawns. Panang curry was fab as was beef in oyster sauce. Also my wife can't take chill at all and the staff were very helpful and even bought replacement sauces. Can't recommend highly enough

Some of the best Thai we’ve had and fantastic service! In fact, it’s hard to say what was better, the delicious food or the hospitality of the staff. Don’t pass up the opportunity to eat here when you’re next in Taupo.

Absolutely Devine food. We had very quick service here. Meals were beautifully presented and very good value for money. We had an early dinner but as it clearly is a very popular restaurant I would book if having a meal after 6pm. I have never seen such sparkly clean glassware either. Plenty of parking as it is at the opposite end of town to most eateries

Went here for the first time. It was recommended by a few people and now I know why… the food was absolutely delicious! And the service was top notch! There’s only been 3 places in my life where I’ve eaten really delicious Thai - 1. Thailand 2. Oriental Thai in Island Bay and 3. Lotus in Taupō… now I will be the one recommending this place :)

The food was excellent. In was in no way their fault I didn't enjoy my yellow curry, that was all on me. The entree coconut soup (forget it's name) was wonderful undertones of Tom yum flavour without the heat. Hubby throughly enjoyed his kebabs and green curry. Highly recommended.

Very nice experience, the food was exception. Well presented and the spicy 🌶️ level was perfect. Probably one of the best Thai Beef Salad's I've had.

Delicious food... We always go to Lotus Thai when in Taupo. Staff /service was friendly, smiley and attentive. (Missed the lotus shaped napkins on the tables and the hot towel offering they used to do at the end of the meal...nice touches that made Lotus stand out from other similar restaurants)

Great food and service although it will say mild, medium or hot on the menu, you can choose your own heat level. Kiwi hot is still quite spicy so choose wisely!

One of the better Thai places I've been to in New Zealand. The food here is quite delicious and the portions are decent. The menu has quite a few interesting items and there's always something there that looks tasty. We usually stop by here on the way back to Auckland from Ruapehu if we're going through Taupo. The nice food and service make it one of the nicer restaurants around.
