This is my favorite place to order calamari. Their calamari is so tender, seasoned well, and delightfully crisp. It's a neat pairing with the seaweed salad as well. Cafe Lacus does great coffee and their spicy chai is on point - not too sweet and well balanced. The same goes for their mochachinos! The interior is nice with plenty of seating options and parking available. If you don't want to be hindered by the busy-ness of town, this is the place to come! The staff are also friendly and professional.

Nice decor and seating, done up really well. All the cabinet food looked amazing. Ordered the seafood chowder off the menu and it didn't disappoint, gf bread I requested was nice too which is rare. Fast and friendly service.

What a beautiful cafe! I had a lovely flat white with oat milk and the breakfast bagel from the display cabinet. It was amazing! The bagel was so fresh (I wonder if they make them in house). It was basically a small eggs bene. And I would go back just to have that. My husband ordered the eggs bene and it was also very good (a little on the small side), but a fantastic experience.

I thoroughly enjoyed my fried chicken burger! The salad is amazing! The flat white is on the bitter side so think twice before placing your order! The toilets are just around the corner. The Wi-Fi password didn’t work, though.

A little off the beaten track. We were in Taupo and looking for a place for brunch. The last couple of places fell through because of COVID staff shortages. I found this place on a Google recommendation so off we went. It was a great find. The place was really well presented, the menu was super exciting and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. We ordered four brunch, and got some prime seats. It was obvious this was a “place to be” from all the people arriving. The food was fantastic!! The drinks were so yummy. Three very happy campers ❤️

A newish cafe set in an ideal spot. Good range of dishes on the menu. The citrus lemon lime milkshake was very nice, very well presented including the jelly, although the drink could have been a tad colder. Excellent parking available, great access for anyone with disabilities. The pulled pork sliders were very tasty as was the mince on toast

Cafe Lacus is a lovely cafe with a stylish and modern interior. An extensive cabinet and blackboard menu, all incredibly delicious, fresh food. My daughters mini piklets were served so beautifully too! Highly recommend. Service was great. Will be back again soon!
