We happily recommend MOMO Teppan-Yaki to anyone and everyone looking to try something new for a restaurant in Tauranga. The staff are always super friendly and so appreciative of your business, plus the food is always consistently well prepared and tasty. The prices are cheap overall so in our opinion probably one of the best value eating experiences in Tauranga.

This is the best teppanyaki meal I've had. I went to Momo with my wife and three kids. We were a bit sceptical at first, but was pleasantly surprised by how tasty the food was. It seemed pricey, but the quality of the food was good, and it was perfectly cooked. We had scallops, prawns, Angus beef, chicken, fried rice and vegetables. Kids had fish and fried rice. The service was warm and friendly. We'd gladly return when we're next in Tauranga.
We have been to MoMos many times. Tony and Michelle are great with the kids. The food is always fresh, delicious and cooked perfectly. We love the social atmosphere and it is so nice to find somewhere child friendly for an early dinner sitting. This place is very good value for money. We will keep coming and will always leave with full tummies and big smiles.

We came here to try this style for the first time.... what a fantastic experience. Service is friendly, excellent. We didn't choose any set menu as we only wanted seafood-prawns, scallops and snapper fillet, although you do get miso soup and steamed rice as well.
Miso soup was really nice... but having the food cooked to perfection in front of you - absolutely priceless... what a fantastic job he does/has. The prawns with yum yum just delicious... the scallops were superb and the fish just perfectly tender. Then we had more prawns...
We did finish with fried banana and vanilla bean ice-cream... YUM.
Went for dinner last night. 4 of us dined, and to say the least, the food was superb. The chef cooking in front of us was a hoot and it's obvious he loves what be is doing. Each of the dishes was a taste sensation , we will definitely be back.
LOVE this place for lunch & I go almost once every two weeks.
$9.80 for the lunch special of miso soup, egg fried rice, fresh fish, seasonal veges and meat (changes daily eg. beef or pork belly) curry.
Not huge portions, but good size for lunch.
Can add additional serving of fish for $5 which is definitely worth it.
Staff are lovely. Friendly, not intrusive, remember who you are.

Went here with my partner on a rainy Saturday evening. It was mostly empty which is a shame because we had such a great experience. The food wad delicious, the staff was extremely kind and the cook wad fantastic. Loved the atmosphere and the prices were great considering what we got. Definitely recommend this!
Was looking for dinner on a Christmas Day and the streets were nothing but quiet. Was recommended this restaurant by a kind dude while buying dim sum across the road.
Popped by this place at 8pm and they were opened for business with about 10 people. The staff were absolutely welcoming and friendly. The food prices were also Wallet friendly, comparing to Singapore’s teppanyaki.
The environment is conducive and comfortable for a cold Summer. Ordered King Set meal and was served promptly with Tony, the Chef serving us every dish and informing us the origins of the ingredients. Had a hearty & yummy meal for Xmas.
Trust me, the restaurant may not look 5 star as you like it to be, but the service & food are definitely great!

Amazing service and great food!! We had a large party of 13 people and there was nothing that was an issue. The food tasted amazing and the service was good. We bought a cake with us and they were so kind and sang happy birthday and made a really big deal of the affair. Couldn't be happier with the night. Would recommend to anyone!!
I was impressed by the service, it was really amusing watching a chef cooking our meal in from of us, and the food was tasty, but the only reason I wouldn't return is that portions are very small and prices are quite high. It is a nice place to visit once indeed, but considering the price and portion size I would not want to come back again.
We have been several times already and never thought to do a review. Each time the food has been beautifully fresh and beautifully presented and just scrumptious! Can't go there enough and its SOOOO CHEAP too. The lunch specials are crazy cheap and fantastic value. Going there again this mothers day!
All of the dishes are fantastic, the Egg Fried Rice in particular is perfect. Rice are individually separated not clumped together. Not too moist not too dry, just right. The Fried rice is not too salty, the fragrance of the egg is prominent with a hint of crispness in them.
It takes great commitment to cook Fried rice this way. Thank you Tony it was a wonderful meal.

Loved it. Food was delicious. It was family friendly and the cooking of the food at the table kept the kids entertained. Staff were friendly and professional. We will be back... boys new favourite!
Entertainment and great food all at the same time. Relatively inexpensive. Cooking done by genuine chef right in front of you. Be prepared to wait for your meal. It does take quite a bit of time. Bookings essential. Central location. Alot of other restaurants and activities walking distance. Good parking
Well worth it. Great food at a great price. We got the lunch special which is incredibly good value for money, since the food is actually amazing. Next time I think we'll go for a bigger set menu.
The food is so delicious here! Lunch specials are $13 and evening sets are $25-35. You get a little bit of five or six different small dishes and the food is cooked by the chef right in front of you. Evenings can be a bit busy if there's groups so maybe call to make a reservation just in case. If you're coming for lunch, you should be perfectly fine to just walk in. Definitely my favourite place to eat in Tauranga
