So was in need of some egg bennies but didn't know where to get any from for smoko, so googled central parade and called this place, and mate... THE BOMB!!! got the bacon one, Hubbie got the mushrooms one, and work mate got salmon to take away... so friendly... fully recomend this place
Back Porch has become my go to place for coffee, food and good service. The food on offer is well prepared and the simple Eggs and Bacon just rock.
As an admitted coffee snob I have to say the FW's at Back Porch are the best in town, smooth strong enough and consistent quality. Friendly host and great service..
Personally never had a less than perfect coffee at Back Porch, good coffee in other cafes around town but the consistency is amazing!!
Lunch yesterday. 5 adults ( 4 engaged in hospitality) and 3 kids ages 8-12. As a coffeecianado I rate my FWx2 perfect,a marriage of a great blend and both a visual and taste masterpiece by a dedicated Barista. The test of any cafe is how staff react when the effluent hits the rotor and Ann-Marie's aplomb when Hyper Harry ankle tripped her with full tray of drinks superb. No fuss and no further embarrassment for the kid. Opinion of all on dishes - first class and value for $.
The busy lunch scene testifies to the calibre of the proprietor's. As an old London W1 hospitality pro I salute their efforts.
Coffee here is the best you will find anywhere. Great inside outside experience. Cosy in winter. Food very nice, especially breakfast. Nice work team.

Since the new owners Ann-Marie and Christian took over late 2011, the Back Porch Cafe has been providing excellent, friendly service of great-tasting food and the best coffee.
They're always happy to see the regulars and most welcoming to visitors. The porch out the back is great to chill out on a sunny day with a mocha and pancakes dripping with maple syrup.
Nice place and coffee was good but the owner was no very pleasant . She was have been having a off day!
Have been back to this cafe a number of times in the past month and with the new owners has improved. will go again.
wow this place is amazing, awesome location, lovely staff and the food is consistently beautifully presented and full of flavour. Best chicken caesar salad I've had, and I have had many. Thanks guys will be back again and again

The owner here is always attentive and friendly. My big breakfast arrives in a pan to eat out of which is a quirky way of serving, delicious big breakfast love the tomato salsa too. The courtyard is calming and relaxing with its plant decor and always kept warm with the heaters. Also lots of reading material whether it is the Sunday paper or magazines. And they have great coffee. Am a regular customer of theirs.
Great breakfast! Avocado toast with diced tomatoes was delicious (I added a fried egg and bacon on top - yum). My husband enjoyed his omelet and the kids liked the pancakes and egg/bacon combo. The toast was light and toasted perfectly. The service was also fast and friendly. Would definitely recommend.
IMPRESSED!! By the friendly, over and above SERVICE. This business owner understands the value of customer service, which in essence is the foundation of hospitality. This owner is observant, we did not drink our coffees (bit bitter) he had another 2 made, which we enjoyed and we enjoyed our sweet & savoury items from the cabinet. What a truly delightful place to chill out and take a coffee break or have breakfast or lunch. My husband and I were pleasantly surprised when we visited recently, to find that the place was actually quite roomy out back with plenty of seating and set out incredibly cozy. Very clean and service was fantastic. Highly recommend this gorgeous café.

Back Porch Cafe is the type of cafe where the staff want to make your food and drinks enjoyable. The food is very consistent and to a very high quality. The food is sourced from local areas and this makes it that extra bit fresh. Relaxing garden area outside and ample parking.I personally would recommend
One thing I love about Tauranga that there are just so many coffee spots and when you come across one that has such friendly staff, excellent coffee, and the food looks awesome ,you just have to give it a review.
On the porch there is a lovely fire and the seating is so the although plenty of seats its not too close that one cannot have a private conversation. Also off the beaten track.

A beautiful cafe with top food, coffee and service. The combination of Ann Marie's fruit shortcake and Christian's coffee blend is a match made in heaven! We love everything about this cafe including the garden area.. so tranquil.
