Nice atmosphere, but very expensive for food for the family. Cabinet is quite minimal. Using the Alternative brand milks which I personally don't like in coffees. Nice bar within. Better for a date night than a day out. Playground close by is great and a dairy for cheaper food!

First time here and it will now be our regular! It had such a nice atmosphere and the service was so quick! We ordered drinks, an entree, lamb shank, pork belly and dessert and I can’t fault any of it! They not only looked amazing but tasted it too! And the drinks and food came out so quick! Will definitely be back again.

We ended up coming here on a Friday after finding the place we intended on going to had closed. We have enjoyed the food at the General at the Mount in the past. Had a very enjoyable meal here. I had 200g eye fillet steak which was excellent and cooked perfectly to my liking (medium rare). My wife had the crusted lamb fillet, also excellent. I noticed they have a special price steak on Thursdays so might be back soon.

Just as good as The Mount branch! The General never disappoints on food, coffee, service and facilities. The food is super fresh & consistently good. Amazing place to take kids with a great kids menu & activity packs. Staff are fantastic. Eat & drink here!!

Customer service was exceptional, and service was fast. I can't rate the food as I ordered a coffee it was delicious. The only thing that I would recommend is getting equal or splendors as the artificial sugar they use does not cut the mustard. All in all great place great people beautiful surroundings.

Great restaurant in relative isolation in terms of location. The staff were friendly and efficient, the menu was good but just lacked a bit of balance for me. The food itself was great but no dish jumped out at me in terms of "this is who we are". Some drinks weren't available when we are there so that stopped me giving everything 5 stars but seriously, would welcome going back. Really good value for money in my view.

I recently visited The General at The Lakes restaurant and I was blown away by how amazing it was. The food was so delicious that I couldn't stop eating. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure that I had everything I needed. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, making me feel right at home. They have a great selection of dishes and drinks, so there's something for everyone. I can't wait to go back and enjoy another meal at this fantastic restaurant!

Both the lamb and steak were faultless,cooked to perfection exactly as requested. The sauce that comes with the lamb is truly exceptional and the beef jus we could have drunk in a mug. The meals are large and vegetables are included. A real highlight is the staff. They're young, international, friendly and efficient. When you combine that with a nothing is too much trouble attitude you know there is a good team. Well done and thank you for our 3rd perfect visit

Delicious food. Went here for a friends baby shower brunch. I had the Southern Chicken Burger which was super yum and filling. With a coffee that was great too. Not a lot of space for my pram but we made do. The place was busy at 11.30-1pm while we were there, but the service was attentive and quick.
