The butter chicken and cheese pie really hit the spot. Was so delicious that I forgot to take a pic! Pretty decent coffee too. Cosy family style place so don’t expect a lavish interior design. Very good selection of food
At the heart of Turangi’s shopping district lies The Bakehouse Cafe and Roast, a quaint and charming family owned delicatessen offering a range of hot meals and cabinet favorites. The range is as impressive as it is diverse, covering all sorts of palates and appetites.
With ample seating for several groups of guests, complimented by comfortable booth seating overlooking the promenade, you are bound to find yourself savoring every mouthful!
Whilst the staff may not be as congenial as other establishments in the area, they are polite, accommodating and remarkably expeditious! One patron in our party purchased the cafe style rump steak, which was prepared as per his liking with a side of fries and salad in 10 minutes.
We have no hesitation in recommending The Bakehouse Cafe and Roast to even the most perspicacious restauranteur touring the central district.

Stopped in here mid/late afternoon since I was just here in Turangi for a look for a couple of hours.
I actually liked this place and if ever I'm back I'd come here again.
I just ordered a coffee and toasted sandwich but on any other occasion I think I would be happy to order a larger meal.
Good selection of foods. The coffee made for me was very good also.
I just got a ham 🧀cheese 🍅tomato & 🌰 onion toaster. It was nicely made with plenty of filling and for a good price.

Visit Turangi yesterday and my friend brought me on this Place. Locals love the food I can see it this shop always busy. Neat, clean and tidy. I ordered roasted pork salad hmmmm yummy. Lots of choices for Foods, hot and cold drinks. Ordered may take a couple of minutes hence they prepared it perfectly and fong long queue during peak time. Looks need more crew in shop. I haven't check or notice the toilet.
Big English Breakfast. Couldn't go past. Generous on the hollandaise sauce. Good portion size. Fast service. Friendly staff. Would recommend for a smoko lunch or a meal to fill in on a drive.

The food was delicious. Stopped here for a feed and br3ak from driving. Had the fish and chips. Huge portion and really yum. Had caramel slice and so yummy!!! I would eat here again!
A nice cheerful place in a rather tired Mall in Turangi. It was a Monday when we were passing though town on our way home. My chicken and mushroom pie was delicious! A huge selection of choices.
