Came by as my partner has mentioned in passing they'd heard good things about the onion bhaji. We got vegetarian curries, garlic naan and the aforementioned onion bhaji and it was so good. Perfect pick up for a finals night of studies. Wait time is naturally on the longer side due to the popularity but so worth it, but if you are in a time rush then totally call ahead. The people working are all so lovely and the food is amazing!
Vegetarian options! Recently I ordered their Aloo Gobi, Palak Paneer, Onion Kulcha, and a Roti.
My partner and I loved the Palak Panner. The paneer was so soft! The gravy was creamier than we’ve had before but very delicate. I think there are some sweet spices in the dish, which offers a lovely flavour difference to the breads!
The Aloo Gobi was from their warming cabinet so the spice level is already set. It was a good warning medium. A really decent Aloo Gobi. It has a tomato masala with it making it slightly wet but it’s not soupy! Great flavour.
All the breads are homemade and freshly baked in the tandoor. The Kulcha was made with their soft na’an dough. Fresh onions baked into the bread with spices, sensational. The roti was a different wholemeal dough. It baked amazingly and offered a nuttier-bread to enjoy with the dishes.
Rice needs to be ordered separately.
This was our first visit here and we’ll definitely it’ll go again! So lovely to have this place open again.
Takeaway only. This is the best Indian food in Wellington. They’re known for their Chicken Tikka but I’ve eaten most of the menu and everything is excellent.
Their curries are cooked with whole spices, they are rich and creamy, and the meat is always tender. The naans are fresh, crisp and hearty. Honestly I love this place, it’s a gem.
