Im french, I love the fact that everything tastes like in France...
The croissants are actually better than a lot of bakery in France, so buttery and crunchy.
It is the best bakery around here without doubts.
Best baker in Wellington..!
Excellent bread. Best Baguettes in Wellington. Best Croissants in Wellington. Also selling Supreme Coffee, which is usually the sure fire sign of an excellent cup. It is.
The sprouted seed loaf is exceptional. Expensive, but it lasted me and my partner for nearly a week. Stayed fresh and it's very dense.
Moved to Berhampore 6 months ago and have been going here nearly every week since. It's overtaken Leeds street as my favourite bakery, both equally good product, but you actually get a smile and a warm welcome when you walk in the door here...
This place has the Seed bread worth travelling for,
My team call it surveillance bread. .… best bread gets the best results, pity we have to wait til Wednesday.
This place looks awesome like they do some wonderful artisan bread. Nothing gluten free on offer so had a coffee and went on my way, coffee was ok but obviously not the strongpoint for this place. I would recommend to anyone that wanted to try a true local old school baker, the breads looked and smelt great!
With Adelaide trading company over the road and rinski Korsakov almost next door (I haven't been to goose shack), berhampore is a serious foodie place to pause and explore. I love all three - rk with its silly sardines on toast, atc with its cool modern cerebral fare, and Gramercy with some of wellington's best bread.
Not only bread but also pastries, croissant and tarts. Not forgetting the supreme Brazilian blend.
A tiny little, lovely interior, spare and devoted to the task of baking.
Today I had two tasks, to buy a baguette to make a panko crumbed fish fillet and cornichon sandwich, to grab a flat white and not to buy the croissant that I did.
The baguettes are excellent, nicely scored, slightly blistered crackling crust, a pale yellow wheaty crumb with good distribution of holes. Close to a real French baguette. The sandwich was great (c/o Thorndon chippery).
Croissant lovely buttery, pulling apart texture - dipped into coffee, perfect. Maybe one more fold of the dough? - maybe.
A precious little gem on the south side.
This is our local bakery. The staff are friendly and they make excellent crafted bread in a beautiful setting.
We buy a loaf most weekends. Burli is a favourite of our house as the crust is softer for our 3yo but we have also enjoyed the other varieties of artisan breads. And of course the classic baguette is excellent value.
Stay away from the other treats they are so divine you'll become a regular! The coffee is consistently top notch. The cafe is small but they have room for people to stop and drink coffee and watch Berhamporians stroll by.
What a delight.
A simple selection of perfectly crafted breads and pastries complemented by well made coffee (Supreme's Brazil blend)
The treats change every day which is an enticing way to eat your way through the whole selection, things here are diabolically good.
Lovely people and a lovely way to start the day.
Update: after two weeks I have managed to sample pretty much all of the little cakes and breads and I can confidently say that everything was well beyond my expectations, wish there was a Gramercy in my neighbourhood.
Don’t make the same mistake as me and turn up at 12: PM, this place seems to sell out fast!
There were only 3 items to choose from but ended up being a blessing in disguise, never would have normally selected a custard tart but now I’m obsessed!
Perfect sweetness and the filling was satiny smooth, with just really nice pastry.
More of a takeaway place I’d say, just a row of bar stools.
Definitely would revisit!
Love venues that knows its strengths and specializes on what they are great at. The croissants here are spectacular, the coffee ain’t bad either!
The service however was another story. Busy store with servers that gives the impression that we are a bother to them.
Lemon meringue pie is my all time fave, so I'm pretty critical. The LMP I purchased there today is absolutely the best I have ever tasted, and I don't say that lightly. It's so light and fluffy, the curd was amazing, a perfect balance of tart and sweet. I also purchased a ham and cheese baguette which was crusty on the outside and fresh and fluffy on the inside. My partner got an almond croissant and loved it too. We will have to stop ourselves from going here too often!
Best coffee in Berhampore and amazing bread/pastries - the jalapeño and cheddar croissants are so good!
I had ham and cheese croiassant, have not ever tried before. I was amazing, although was cold but no matter. The cheese and butter flavor is so fantastic, the texture is crunch and soft.
Atmosphere is so calm, good place to enjoy delicious breads and pastries
Fantastic service, beautiful coffee and delicious food in an immaculately clean environment. Get in before the deliciousness sells out. I Highly recommend Gramercy Bakery.
One of the bakeries in Wellington. Reliably delicious sourdough loaves, and croissants that are flaky and buttery—so airy they shatter when you eat them. This place is top quality all around.
Excellent bread and pastries/treats. Can get very busy at peak times
Gramercy has the bread and bakery treats that you need and deserve in a Saturday morning. Their bread has lovely crunchy crusts, and a wonderful inside texture and taste. And their chocolate and custard brioche is to die for.
Definitely worth getting out of bed for.
The ham and cheese and jalapeno cheddar croissants are incredible. Stop what you are doing now, let the kids find there own way to school and go buy a croissant straight away!
