Friday night pulled up and seen this little takeaway shop was packed! Decided to call in my order, easy as. Popped to the supermarket and came back to retrieve our dinner. Food is always yum! Since moving to Khandallah from up the coast this place makes the best chicken fried rice! Our go to takeaways :)

Best chips ever! Service is always amazing and the shop is a cute little place on the high street! Food is always fresh and hot and tastes far better than any other fish and chip places I have tried. Been going here for about 11 years!

We are Khandallah-ites. We've mostly been customers of the place across the road "Asian Takeaways" with the BLUE sign but we have now decided that THIS place is better. Their food is tastier, more generous portions, and quality ingredients/vegetables. It is slightly more expensive but we're willing to pay the extra. We got 2 dishes tonight - sweet-and-sour fish and combination garlic-and-black-bean sauce. Both dishes were great! The fish was melt-in-your-mouth. We phoned our order and it was ready BEFORE the time they said it would be! (UNLIKE Asian Takeaways across the road who consistently tell people one time "It'll be ready in 10 minutes" and you show up and have to wait another 10 minutes for it to actually be ready!) The customer service both on the phone and in person was very good. And it has been in the past too.
We will definitely be back now to Golden Takeaways on a regular basis.

Came in on the way home for some Friday takeaways. Must have got in at the right time as it wasn't too crowded(yet)and ordered a combination fried rice with a combo chop suey(vegetables, yum).

Now here's the kicker, I had been thinking about dinner most of the afternoon and was absolutely STOKED with what I got when returning home. Exactly what I had been hoping for, some of the nicest takeaway Chinese food I have had for a long time. Definitely going back!

It is the more popular of the Khandallah takeways, its busy every Friday, and the food is great value and quality. There is the plenty of choice and phone orders are welcome.

Food here is good as! Slightly on the expensive side for a fish and chip shop though, but everything is cooked really nicely. Kudos to the team at Golden takeaways, always dishin out yum food.

I was recommended this shop after my previous issues with Hells Pizza and now I want to pass the recommendation on to whoever will read.

The fish and chips are yum but the Chinese is my fav. The food isn't oily, the flavours are authentic and yum, the portions are huge (two or three serves per container) and it's super quick, despite being incredibly busy.

Great for what it is and a cheap and cheerful way to spend a Friday evening.

LL Cheah (LLC)

This place is underrated. We had the crumbed tarakihi and chips the other night which was really good. Not very oily and the slice of tarakihi we had was massive and enough for 2 adults. Haven’t tried the other dishes but would be keen to try them now!

Haven't been to this takeaway for years although do live in Ngaio so close by. Unexpectedly went last night (20 /3/2021) and ordered three meals. My adult sons and I were very impressed with the quality of the food and the generous portion sizes and decided we would make this our regular for takeaway. Hence I was so impressed I decided to come here to write a review. Haha then I see the previous reviews about small portions and rudeness of staff. Well I can say those reviews must have been noticed as the meals were tasty and definitely worth the price from other places I have visited recently. Yes the man serving appears grumpy but I don't think he means to be he is just not a talker and the woman made up for that with a lovely smile and an 'enjoy your meal' when the food was ready. Give it second chance, you won't be disappointed.
