I LOVE mexican food and to have a mexican subway is awesome! It's super healthy (unless you're a cheese and sour cream fiend like moi) lots of salad, beans, vegetables and fillings of your choice e.g. mushrooms, vegetarian, beef, chicken blah blah blah and everything is so good! The salad is fresh, the food is hot, they even toast your nachos so the cheese is melted! The best thing is they're open super late on weekends until about 2/3am which is fab if you're not into chinese or a pie at that time. Will keep returning!
A decent place for a more than decent food! Even though the burrito was no special, the nachos were really good! The staff was a bit too quiet.. A definite yes for the food!
Great cheap place to go in the middle of Wellington. Also decent size plates of food. Full of flavour and nice spicy sauces!
Go for the pulled pork!
I tried this place the other day. I went here for lunch. I ordered beef tostada and my friend ordered quesadilla. Both dishes were good but the tostada was a bit pricey for the amount you get.
Really good prices for what you get- the quesadillas are really good and the meat is tender and juicy. The only downside is the salad they serve it with which isn't that fresh and is what I would call "dry" or old. My partner enjoyed his burrito even though the lettuce wasn't that great. Medium chilli sauce is a wee bit too spicy with mild having no spice at all. Definitely a good place hidden away.
OH HELLS YES! I recommend the chicken enchilada with the medium hot sauce! DAYAM!
The rice is a bit so-so, but the refried beans, enchilada, and the extra sauces are absolutely delicious! It's a generous serve and wont disappoint. Sauce lovers, this is the dish for you. At $12.50 you'd be mad to get your Mexican fix elsewhere.
How the hell did I not know about this place earlier? I was suggested Pachanga from a colleague of mine who sounds like she's a food crazy expert, that I just had to try it out. So I did, and now I will probably buy it every day.
No mucking around, great prices, great staff, BEST FOOD, the food was warm but I had a microwave at Work so no big deal.
For those who have small lunch breaks this is just perfect. As I said earlier I will probably visit this place every day it's open (and so far have been, on my half hour break). They are open late on Friday & Saturday, so if you're hitting the gym late after work or just having a night out, it's the perfect time to get another great meal to make sure you're meeting your calories for the day.
THANK YOU PACHANGA!
My family and I went to Pachanga on a Sunday lunch to celebrate my brother’s birthday.
The tables had a unique shape. I liked the overhead floral ornaments. It was our first time dining in there, so it was a little confusing on how ordering works; but the lady that served us was very friendly and was very helpful. She was also very fast and efficient as she did all our orders (8) and more, by herself.
Most of us, including myself, ordered the Pachanga, which seemed like a great dish to try as it sounds like the signature dish of the place. It looked like a Mexican version of the Turkish Iskender. The dish involved 2 fillings, 2 sides, tortilla, salsa, salad, and sour cream. There are 3 choices of meats for the fillings; chicken, which was in my opinion the best of the 3, as you can taste the different spices; pork, it was very rich with a spit-fired flavour; and beef, which was not as flavourful as the other 2. The 2 sides that I ordered were rice and beans; the fried rice was surprisingly tasty, I found it tastier than the rice normally on iskenders; and the beans tasted authentic and were not dry.
This dish was very filling.
Their Jarritos drinks are also worth a try, which is a Mexican flavoured soda. They have some unique flavours such as mango and tamarind.
Their Churros were great, I have only tried churros on weekend markets before, and theirs were better than any of those; although, in my opinion it could do with more chocolate sauce.
Overall, I would definitely come back here, and try different Mexican dishes, I recommend it to everyone. My brother was very satisfied and impressed of that lady that was by herself serving everyone, that he left a $20 tip.
Easily my favourite quick eat place.. There are always some good tunes playing, the staff are always really friendly and always happy to have a chat. Top quality food that should easily be some of the tastiest on Courtney place. Menu is a little sparse but what they do have they do well, with even a few authentic Mexican drinks to wash it down. Did I mention it's exceptionally well priced? :)
Pachanga is a great lunch or dinner option for uni students looking for a quick yet fairly affordable bite to eat. The flavours are fresh & flavourful.
